Wraith requires at least 12 wiz lvls, so the obvious choice is wiz 12 / rgr 6 / rog 2. There are a few challenges with this split, though:
    • Rgr 12 is necessary for the +1 crit range & multiplier bonuses in the DWS & Tempest cores. Without them, your melee DPS takes a serious hit.
    • If you front-load the rgr lvls to get Tempest bonuses ASAP, you don't get wraith form until lvl 20; if you front-load wiz lvls to get wraith form ASAP, you don't get Tempest goodies until late-teen lvls, impairing your melee DPS. Either way, your build won't hit its full potential until epic lvls, which is why I don't think it's the best template for a heroic life.
    • Enhancements are pretty tight if you go INT-based: ~40 APs Tempest, 21 APs PM, 12 APs Harper, which only leaves ~7 APs for other things. If drow / elf, probably spend 4 APs on Arcane Fluidity to negate ASF, at least until you can slot a big enough ASF augment.

That's not to say you shouldn't do this, of course; just that it will be more challenging than a more conventional build would be, IMO.

Normally the advice would be to go human for the extra feat and racial Dmg Boost, but drow should be fine; the bonuses to DEX & INT will help on a first-lifer.
    Code:

ps: the ranged option u placed in there is needed ? isnt it good ¨enough¨to cover the bits ranged moments needed with spammable spells perhaps ? dunno just a wild guess xD

    thx again!

    Default Would kensai be better?

About this Tempest wraith build last posted,

since you only have 6/8 levels to work melee class wouldn't a twf kensai/SD have better DPS and defense?
I know it would not be "tempest" just twf fighter, but would it be better?
Honest question not criticizing the build or anything.

no offence taken at all dont worry ! , i embrace critique cus thts what makes one learn

The reason i chose tempest in this case is to offset the lack of aoe goin twf as to compared beeing THF (and the tempest goodies tht enhance twf style offc ), but yes as stated in the OP, tempest was just inserted cus it sounded cool with wraith xD, i did mention if another twf version would be better by all means lets see! ...

that said i havent started it either yet , cus im thinking if it would be viable or not , perhaps a thf version i dunno ...i still havent found something too fully focus my playtime on ... since i solo most i just wannabe sure i can have a build tht makes the longrun and do all , and eventually work in reincarnations and look at other stuff... else im afraid ill start some random build , and halfway get annoyed by something it is not able to do and then quit playing ...most likely ... dont get me wrong i fully am able to accept some content is either harder or simply impossible for some classes ....but for the big picture ..most of it i wanna do

so i brainstorm and think and read and search untill i find something xD (wich for me is also fun btw cus it helps me learn alot too, and experimenting etc but the experimenting i wanna get rid of for now i wanna be sure of what im gonna do xD )

    thx!

Define "better." Rgr 5/6 gets you more skill pts (helps with those trap skills you want), Dance of Death (a pretty sweet AoE atk), Dual Perfection (full dmg mod to offhand atks), etc. Ftr 6/8 would get you more Melee Power and crit bonuses, possibly a higher dmg mod with Weapon Master. My hunch is that the Tempest will do a better job of clearing trash mobs (even w/out crit bonuses) thanks to DoD; but the Kensei will have better single-target DPS and probably be sturdier.

Don't forget to rack up your APs: you need to spend at least 21 in PM for wraith form and 33-35 in Kensei for T5s; if you're going INT-based, you need to spend at least 12 APs in Harper. That only leaves ~15 APs for SD or other PrEs. So it's doable, but it's tight.

Whats you opinion on a pure melee wiz ? s+b pm/eldritch/harper (leftovers wherever), how would this fair as to solo ability into most of the content ? im not expecting it to be on par with one of the melee classes , but its does have some appeal to verstility at first glance

    thx

That it's a good way to gimp a decent caster. EK was a weak PrE when it came out 3 years ago; it's pretty poor compared to all the DPS buffage of the last two years. You'll note I didn't take any EK enhancements on my build; that's not an oversight, there's just not enough there to justify the AP cost on this build, IMO.

The least terrible use of EK is for the defensive bonuses, IMO; see my Iconic Builds thread for a BF pal 15 / wiz 5 build using KotC + SD + EK.

That said, there are a couple of wiz 18+ melee / caster hybrid builds, though I don't consider them suitable for a first-lifer; they rely on gear, past lives, etc. to make up for class weaknesses.

    xD

yea im starting to shove the idea of melee pm wiz to the side for when i gathered some passed lives perhaps ,, eventually.... and atleast 36p and some tomes aswell

may i ask your no1 choice , for solo contestant ? beeing with the 28p and harper as resources xD , dmge , sustainable, traps ( not strictly needed i guess if this element impairs the rest then i prefer not to trap)
EDIT: should add , i have no real preference to playstyle i like all of them pretty much and always play all of them at some point , need to keep the ALToholic in me satisfied too but i do focus on 1 of each eventually...but before reaching that point ,,,well ...thts another story xD

    thx for ur time

    Default New monk builds?

Hey I love to play monk, and have tried alot of different builds from the phoenix-victorylap-ive made staff hitters-to even a form of adapted Juggernaut that uses fists, I want to try a new monk build though and im down to multiclass aslong as I still get to use the style of punching things. Any recomendations for an interesting monk build that will be fun but still good and wont have to rely on parties as much, I like to solo most of the content that I can.

    Default Updated cleric

I'm running through lives for completionist. I'm not opposed to just doing a vanilla cleric life, but if there's any uber builds out there updated with the newest enhancements, etc., then I'm game to give a whirl. I've looked through older builds but curious if there's a new, exciting flavor out there.

I'll TR as soon as I hit 20, so epic prowess takes a back seat to soloing 1-20. That said, an epic friendly build wouldn't hurt my feelings.

In terms of game style, etc., I'm open.

I don't have any iconic races, but I have heroic races.

Thanks, and I appreciate any help.
Too many toons to list, but the mains are Achewon, Westudi, and Shonufff.

Default Looking for good solo build, with rogue ailities

I'm a returning player, with VIP access, and this will be a 3rd+ life build.

I'd like to use rogue skills to defeat traps and whatnot, ranger for the TWF feats, and was going to go monk for ninja spy. In my head it's 12/6/2 Monk/Ranger/Rogue. I haven't played in years, so my build-fu is totally wonky.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you actually need a monk PL or are you just doing it b/c you think it looks cool? Right now rgr is more powerful than monk. Even if I was doing a centered toon w/trap skills, I'd lean rgr 12 / monk 6 / rog 2 for Tempest + DWS cores (+1 crit range & multiplier), using short swords or longswords.

It's to get the monk PL. I'm coming off rogue and ranger lives, and have a ton of short swords and other gear to utilize.

I TR'd into a Sun Elf Cleric and now I am now sure how to build it. Any suggestions? Or, should I scrap the whole cleric idea? What is a sun elf good for then? I', stuck with it until I get to 20.

There's a sun elf caster in my Iconic Builds thread. Or just use one of these: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post5759356

Actually, you're stuck with it until lvl 30; sorry, but Iconics can't HTR at lvl 20, they can only ITR or ER at 30.

O man. I didn't realize that. I ended up making a FvS evoker and also light damage. It should be a good epic character. I have a wiZard and sorc past life.

    Thanks.

I think it is fair. EK/PM. Max con, all level ups in con.

TWF Feats, but swap to S&B with ASF reduction in tree form.

Undead form healing with negative energy aura, which charges up spirit in PA, which unleashes the beast, healing with consecrate - sacred ground.

    TWFx3, GCx3, WWAx5 is 11 feats you will have by 27 on a human.

Bring an eternal wand of cure minor wounds with you.

Default Need 3 iconic and 3 class to finish Triple completionist

    Greeting !
Plz create to point me in the right direction... NO LR to remove starting class...Going from 15-30 then immediately ITR (12 ITR's)

    NEED CLASSES
    Cleric
    Wizard
    Arti
    Warlock

    NEED RACES
    Sun Elf
    Deep Gnome
    ShadarKai

Seems like sun-elf/cleric, SK/Arti, and DG/wizard would be logical??? BUT....

I havent found any DG/wizard builds or SK/Arti builds on the forums
