Are there any good Melee FvS Builds that dont require Supreme Tomes? Just about every single FvS Build i see has a ton of tomes. Ive got a +3 Str Tome and +1(Upgrade +2) Cha Tomes. Not sure what classes or stat split to take. would need 17 dex i know, not sure about other stats. what would be a good race?

Okay I have made up my mind on the artificer I know what I want it to do for the most part. I just need help with the level splits how much of each and feats. I will be playing a ranged focused arti, I want to splash it with rogue I just dont know how many levels of rogue and when. Many people tell me pure arti is the way to go but I just love the thrown traps I get with the mech rogue plus all the bonuses to xbows. That being said I will be playing a drow arti because I only have 28 pt build atm and WF keeps me stat starved ( I have no tomes or money). If some one could come up with a build on the planner I can use as a guide it would be much appreciated thank you.
go all int, with just enough dex to qualify for ranged feats (will need 19 to get IPS. don't forget a dash of con) 14 arti 6 rogue. mechanic "targeting sights" adds int modifier to damage, and arti spell "insightful strikes" takes your to-hit from your int also.
ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE for a ranged-focused build: Improved Precise Shot (IPS) Prereqs: dex 19, BAB 11, Precise Shot
as for when to take what... i dunno. i just woke up and i havn't had caffeine yet

Well so far that was what I was thinking, I started one last night to see what I could come up with myself and so far its pretty good. I went drow simply because with out a 32 point build it was the only way I could get my dex and Int where they need to be without tomes, also i have found that healing isnt so much a problem with the admixture spells using potions to AOE heal atm is working great being non WF. I started off with 12 str 18 dex 18int and 12 con. I am thinking maybe 10 str and 14 con would be better but can be fixed with a re-roll. My first ability increase went to dex for the 19 the rest will go int. I have some really good int items from my eldritch knight so I can really get that one to soar. It will not be the best min/max build simply because I have never really been a min maxer but it will be a solid build that will server its purpose for what we want to do.
Just for clarity why 6 rogue and not just 5? My first thoughts were just 5 rogue because thats all thats need to hit the cap on enhancements but maybe there is another reason I am not aware of? Anyways katz thanks for the info things are starting to fall into place the more help you have given the more this is starting to make sense and its getting easier to figure out builds. I am really loving the eldritch build you helped me with I have tensors now and he is basically just unstoppable now. We steamroll quests on elite like mobs werent even there. So I am sure with your help this artificer will be extremely fun too, I love the damage with the repeaters and the added dmg from the rune arm is nice, plus the mechanics traps that i can throw are just hilariously fun. Thanks again
this is why. Core ability #3: Targeting Sights: You can now use your Intelligence modifier for damage with modifier with all crossbows and thrown weapons. requires level 6 rogue.
that combined with arti spell "insightful shots" takes EVERTHING to do with you shooting at something else from your int, which should by sky high.

A pure ranged+caster arty build hasn't changed that much. The big change of U19 was adding SLAs to the Arcanotechnician tree. Here's a sample build:

- Construct Essence provides self-repairability, however it also adds a heal amp penalty. Eventually your UMD will be high enough for CCW wands / Heal scrolls, at which point you can swap it out for, say, Insightful Reflexes.
- To paraphrase another poster, the problem with Arcanotechnician is you have all the drawbacks of an Air Savant (i.e., lightning-based, Reflex saves) and none of the perks (deep SP pool, Wind Dance). So I'm not convinced it makes sense to invest in AT in the long run. In which case, I would respect into Battle Engineer more, dropping the SLAs and relying on the classic duo, Blade Barrier & TacDet.
- Base stats can be tweaked based on what tome(s) you actually have or expect to acquire. The important goals are to hit DEX 19 for IPS and DEX 21 for Combat Archery.

Hello,
Well the other night I had a bit too much to drink and spent some coin on the game. So I now have access to the iconic classes. I am looking for help building a good starter, solo build for a casual player. I was thinking of maybe a bladeforged 16 sorc/2 pal/ 2 rog?
Does anyone have any good builds for that combo or could some one suggest a better build for an iconic, even if it requires a LR.
Thanks!!
Hey
I was sniffing around the forums for some decent iconic builds - but bladeforged aside and some pdk/eldritch kinght builds there aren't any that really caught my eye.
Could you suggest some builds for Shadar-kai and Morniglord iconics?
With Shadar-kai i want it to be rogue mainly (can even be pure rogue if it meets the requirement below) - for Morniglord i'm not really sure what i want. Pure cleric seems a little dull with the current state of the game - but something with enough cleric levels for burst/aura would be of big value for sure.
Condition:
I'm looking for something that can join BYOH EE pugs without dieing every time i something spawns in front of me and deliver some serious DPS at the same time.
So I have been working on this build so far I am level 8 with it and its seeming very very solid. Towards the end I just kinda threw things in as far as spells go since there is such a limited selection. I have been running with a hireling healer and my wife which is why I dont pick up any real self heals right away. With enhancements its a work in progress they can be adjusted if needs be but for the most part it seems like they will work just fine. Anyways here it is if you wouldn't mind throwing some ideas out there or criticisms both are welcome. Also its meant to be a tome-less beginner friendly build.

Hey guys, I'd been away from DDO for a while now, and with all the changes, I've found that the build I was using before is less effective, and not very much fun anymore. I'd prefer not to delete and try again when I have a +20 lesser heart, so would someone please help me find a build that would work with:
1. Drow
2. True neutral alignment
3. All classes except Arti available
I'd done a bit of research and found that a TWF FvS looked fun, and was wondering if it would be feasable with the first-life drow buildpoints.
Thanks in advance!

Semi-retired Build Engineer. Everything was better back in our day. Get off my lawn.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to change your class mix until after you get rid of one or more of your other classes. Fortunately, since you took only took 1 lvl ea. of rog & rgr early on, you can get rid them pretty easily; but if you want to get rid of cleric, that's more tricky.
BTW, I presume your char is based on Phidius's build. Have a look at my Tempest Warpriest thread; you may find rgr 12 / cleric 7 / rog 1 more to your liking. Or if you're willing to splurge on a LG alignment change, have a look at this build. Both builds should have solid ranged+melee DPS w/Div Might, rog skills, and survivability. The Tempest Warpriest gets lvl 4 cleric spells (FoM, Death Ward), as well as Smite Foe / Ameliorating Strikes for free heals & extra DPS; while the 15/4/1 gets higher saves (Divine Grace) and some DPS+survivability perks from KotC.

Yeah, the build I was going for was remarkably similar to that. I basically just took levels in whatever I "felt" I needed at each level, but it wound up feeling more like I was trying to do too much at once and couldn't do anything well.
I was considering just rushing 4 FvS levels to clear out the early rogue/ranger stuff which would then give me the leeway to splash one other class even while the cleric levels were there, but I can't determine what would be the most effective way to splash. Fighter and Monk both have extra feats, Paladin/Rogue have useful feats that kick in at two levels, and if I keep ranger, the TWF chain is built in. I could certainly use some recommendations as to which would mesh better with the TWF playstyle I want to aim for. I really want to learn the ins and outs of a divine, but I want that melee to fall back on since it's more of my comfort zone.
I guess another concern is whether I should aim to get level 9 spells. I think heal mass ought to be worth it, but having never played a divine to that high, I couldn't really be sure.
Hello all, I have been looking nonstop for 3 days and am currently overwhelmed at the moment and am hoping someone in this thread can set me in the right direction or create a build for me as well. I haven't played the game in several years but my friend and I are looking to get back into it, he is much more experienced in the game and he is going to be going with a wiz/rog build..this one https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...-Wizard-Rogue) to be exact.
No I would really like to go pure monk, but I haven't really been able to find any builds that start off at 28/32 points and than somewhat guide my hands when it comes to enhancements/feats. I would really like one that will mesh well with his character, or that is just good for soloing as well, if we won't be able to be on the sametime.. I picked up the VIP so I have access to whatever, and if I have to spend a few more bucks to make the game more enjoyable and my build more efficient just please let me know what needs to be done.
I really appreciate any help in this, mostly because it will stop me from pulling anymore hair out thank you all and CHEERS!

Pure monk builds have lost the forum limelight to MCed monks and the current Flavor of the Month (monk / kensei); which is a little surprising considering how OP Quivering Palm is right now. Since your friend is using EllisDee's Pale Trapper, you might want to have a look at his Challenge Farmer. Although built for a specific purpose, it's a solid monk build overall and would work well as a general-purpose monk (with a few tweaks).
For comparison, this is the dwarf monk build I've been using:
I'm only lvl 12, so I couldn't tell you how she does at higher levels, but she's been a piece of cake so far. I'll probably swap out Stunning Blow, since as a WIS-based monk I'm already struggling to get my S.Blow DCs high enough to be useful; not sure what for, though. This is the build in its most "lowbie-friendly" form; only req's +2 DEX tome for ITWF & GTWF.Code:Character Plan by DDO Character Planner Version 04.19.03 DDO Character Planner Home Page Level 28 Lawful Neutral Dwarf Female (20 Monk \ 8 Epic) Hit Points: 384 Spell Points: 0 BAB: 15\15\20\25\25 Fortitude: 15 Reflex: 16 Will: 21 Starting Feat/Enhancement Abilities Base Stats Modified Stats (32 Point) (Level 1) (Level 28) Strength 13 13 Dexterity 15 17 Constitution 16 17 Intelligence 8 8 Wisdom 17 29 Charisma 6 6 Tomes Used +2 Tome of Dexterity used at level 8 Level 1 (Monk) Feat: (Selected) Cleave Feat: (Monk Bonus) Power Attack Level 2 (Monk) Feat: (Monk Bonus) Two Weapon Fighting Level 3 (Monk) Feat: (Monk Path) Path of Harmonious Balance: Fists of Light Feat: (Selected) Stunning Blow Level 4 (Monk) Ability Raise: WIS Level 5 (Monk) Level 6 (Monk) Feat: (Selected) Great Cleave Feat: (Monk Bonus) Stunning Fist Level 7 (Monk) Level 8 (Monk) Ability Raise: WIS Level 9 (Monk) Feat: (Selected) Improved Two Weapon Fighting Level 10 (Monk) Level 11 (Monk) Level 12 (Monk) Ability Raise: WIS Feat: (Selected) Improved Critical: Bludgeoning Weapons Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Bastion of Purity (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Protection from Tainted Creatures (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Iron Hand (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Argent Fist (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Deft Strikes (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Deft Strikes (Rank 2) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Deft Strikes (Rank 3) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Smite Tainted Creature (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Iron Skin (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Iron Skin (Rank 2) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Iron Skin (Rank 3) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Jade Strike (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Dismissing Strike (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Wisdom (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Tomb of Jade (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Instinctive Defense (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Wisdom (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Kukan-Do (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Violence Begets Violence (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Empty Hand Mastery (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Ninja Training (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Ninja Training (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Shadow Veil (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Sneak Attack Training (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Acrobatic (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Acrobatic (Rank 2) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Acrobatic (Rank 3) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Sneak Attack Training (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Fists of Iron (Rank 1) Level 13 (Monk) Level 14 (Monk) Level 15 (Monk) Feat: (Selected) Greater Two Weapon Fighting Level 16 (Monk) Ability Raise: WIS Level 17 (Monk) Level 18 (Monk) Feat: (Selected) Improved Sunder Level 19 (Monk) Level 20 (Monk) Ability Raise: WIS Enhancement: Dwarf - Dwarven Toughness (Rank 1) Enhancement: Dwarf - Dwarven Constitution (Rank 1) Enhancement: Dwarf - Dwarven Toughness (Rank 1) Enhancement: Dwarf - Iron Stomach (Rank 1) Enhancement: Dwarf - Iron Stomach (Rank 2) Enhancement: Dwarf - Iron Stomach (Rank 3) Enhancement: Dwarf - Dwarven Tactics (Rank 1) Enhancement: Dwarf - Dwarven Tactics (Rank 2) Enhancement: Dwarf - Dwarven Tactics (Rank 3) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Touch of the Void Dragon (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - To Seek Perfection (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Ki Shout (Rank 1) Enhancement: Shintao (Mnk) - Meditation of War (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Agility (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Flash Bang (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Flash Bang (Rank 2) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Flash Bang (Rank 3) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Sneak Attack Training (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Wisdom (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - Sneak Attack Training (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - No Mercy (Rank 1) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - No Mercy (Rank 2) Enhancement: Ninja Spy (Mnk) - No Mercy (Rank 3) Level 21 (Epic) Feat: (Selected) Epic: Improved Martial Arts Level 22 (Epic) Level 23 (Epic) Level 24 (Epic) Ability Raise: WIS Feat: (Selected) Epic: Vorpal Strikes Level 25 (Epic) Level 26 (Epic) Feat: (Epic Destiny) Epic Destiny: Perfect Two Weapon Fighting Level 27 (Epic) Feat: (Selected) Epic: Blinding Speed Level 28 (Epic) Ability Raise: WIS Feat: (Epic Destiny) Epic Destiny: Elusive Target

I'm looking for a better version of my Stunning Fist Healer since I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm going to true reincarnate but I'd like to remain an elf. I'm willing to consider cleric instead of fvs.

Arasari fvs/monk Sarlona
I used Fire early on for the +2 STR, faster ki gen, and extra heal amp from Jidz-Tet'ka. Later I used Wind for the doublestrike & atk speed; once I hit 12, I specced for Earth (Iron Skin, Violence Begets Violence). The goal was always a durable hate-tank, so Earth stance+Ki Shout for the extra threat.
