Sebastrd; if your going 18 ranger, you dont need 2 rogue levels, as ranger already gives you evasion at level 9.

you could also consider a 12 ranger/6monk/2(rogue or artificer) monkcher to get a ranger past life while having fun with both 10k stars and manyshot.. if you go aftificer and go half elf you can get rogue dilly for 3d6SA and go dark monk for another one (and shadow fade is just as good as AC)

    Something like this maybe

Default THF evasion fighter with full rogue skills

I've been kicking around ideas on the character builder, and would like the perspective of some people more experienced with building/playing melees.

    Goals:
Fighter past life feat when I reincarnate
THF, because I have greensteel two-handers and don't want to grind out a set of TWF GS yet.
Full rogue skills (traps, locks, and UMD), because I'm neurotic about that
Evasion, because I'm addicted to it

    Playstyle:
Overwhelmingly solo, mostly with a pocket healer.
I don't insist on elites. Quite happy to solo hard, or even normal for faster runs when I get closer to level 16/17ish.
Once I hit level 20, this toon will probably run shroud a bunch, and not much else until I reincarnate. If the new epic TR is out by then, I'll level to 28 using the path of least resistance, but I won't be doing or building for epic elites.

    36 point build
Monk, ranger, and wizard past lives
    EDIT: +4 tome on everything

So far I'm leaning mostly toward fighter 12 (kensei II)/rogue 7/barbarian 1, but am open to other builds as long as I get the listed goals. I'm also trying to figure out how much dexterity and intelligence I really need, and how much balance/jump I can get on top of rogue skills without cutting into my other stats too much. I haven't done much of anything with feats yet, but expect 12 fighter means I'll have plenty.

    Thanks for your input~~

Furthermore, I believe that the bugs and lag must be fixed.

That's a good point about the evasion, which opens up arti as a possibility. I'm really not interested in an Uzi or Monkcher build (probably because my last two lives have been flavor of the month builds). Sneak attack is really not that important to me, and I'd like to get some mileage out of all my rapiers and TWF gear that's been collecting dust since my pally life.

    Initial post updated...
    Astreya the Unturning

It's always a shame when the hammer of poor design choices smashes the fun of player tactical adaptation.

After educating myself a bit, I've come around. This build looks very close to what I'm looking for. I have two questions:

    1. I'd rather go with the pally dilettante for the saves bonus over the rogue SA. Is the rogue SA a matter of taste or strictly superior?
    2. I assume the build you posted is expected to use handwraps (of which I have plenty). However, I want to get some mileage out of my TWF twink gear that include three GS rapiers. Is that possible? It would save me the IC: bludgeoning feat, since two of the GS rapiers are minII, so I could take IC: Ranged earlier. I don't mind leaving a little DPS on the table, but if it's horribly inferior or just won't work with ki and centered requirements...

    Thanks for the build.

    Edit: How does this look?

Hey, I've been researching a few builds I want to make, and am pretty much a noob when it comes to ddo.
So I figured this would be the best place to start since I couldn't find very many solid answers through google.

I've been in ddo for 4 years (3 of them inactive) and Have access to 32pt build, lvl 4 vet status, drow, half-orc, half-elf, druid, and about 98% of the adventure packs, but I've never gotten past lvl 10. So basically I need a build that will be fun, but easy to maintain to go from lvl 4 all the way to lvl 20-25. Since I just got menace of the underdark, and a bunch of account upgrades I'd like to make a toon I can enjoy it on.

The toons I've used the most were all battle cleric builds that I somehow messed up in the long run.
So a nice battle cleric, than can handle agro, preferably twf (dwarven axes I love) would be a build I'd need help with. But my battlecleric does have to be able to buff and heal effectively, and carry enough sp to throw out a few offensive spells when I desire.
Also thinking about starting a Barbarian half-orc to make my main toon (to get to lvl 20 asap)
I'm open to cross classing, choosing something other than barb/cleric, etc. Just mainly need a fun, and easy toon that I know can hold up at lvl 20+ and get me there as quick as possible, and hopefully as simply planned as possible.

So simply said, I need the best/easiest half-orc barb build you can give me. And it'd be just as awesome if you gave me some direction on how to handle my battle-cleric obsession.
Also if you just have a build in mind that would be good for me, don't be afraid to tell me it too

Thank you in advance for any effort you put into this, This is a great service for us people who don't have the experience to think these epic builds up on our own

    Default A Request.

Hello. I have played DDO on and off over the last while. (2-3 years I think?) I don't really know much about putting a Char together in DDO though I have been trying. I was hoping to make a Drow/Warforged Acid Sav pure Sorc (Unless splashing something is really seen as needed) with Ice or Force as secondary. I have 32pt all the classes other then favored soul, no tombs, and vet lvl 4. I don't really know how to go about doing this very well and was wondering if I could get some help in this? Sorry if I'm bothering anyone with this kinda question.

Rogue is better DPS (3d6) which stacks w/Ninja I 1d6 SA and would let you dump-stat CHA; pally would be higher saves, obviously, but you have to put 5 pts into CHA (no more dilly-swapping after tomes) and the bonus caps at +5 (CHA 20), which is disappointing, IMHO.
I assume the build you posted is expected to use handwraps (of which I have plenty). However, I want to get some mileage out of my TWF twink gear that include three GS rapiers. Is that possible?

Possible, sure - advisable, not so much. Switching to rapiers would uncenter you; apart from losing stances etc., you bleed off ki like a stuck pig. Since half the point of meleeing on a monkcher is to build up ki to power 10K Stars, this is what we call "less than ideal." You could use short swords instead; you remain centered while using them as Ninja. Another possibility would be to backload your monk lvls instead of rgr and use rapiers while leveling, then switch to wraps after you add monk.

    Two comments about your build:
    • Most monkchers go WIS-based in order to max out their 10K Stars proc chance; it also boosts Stunning Fist DC, ofc. The tradeoff is lower melee DPS than STR-based; so it's a question of priorities.
    • Rgr 12 doesn't get you much on an AA like this; +1 AC from Barkskin and +10 pts of energy protection. [This may change after the Enhancement overhaul, if we're allowed to combine elf/HE AA w/rgr DWS II; tbh I haven't paid much attention to the alpha.] Arty 3 would let you cast lvl 2 spells, namely Elemental Weapons for a little more DPS; as well as the next rank of Artificer Knowledge (Wands +1). So rgr 11 / art 3 is a slightly better combo, IMHO.

See wowo's monkcher thread for more info.

Epic feats: Overwhelming Critical and epic Toughness (builder's a bit bugged when it comes to displaying epic levels)

    A few comments:
    • This is the 28-pt version. For 34 pts, I'd go max STR; for 36 pts, I'd put the extra 2 pts into DEX or INT.
    • I went dwarf for the extra CON & HPs, +5 to saves vs spells (Dwarven Spell Defense enhs), greataxe dmg bonuses, Tactics enhs. She can be adapted to any race, each with their pros & cons: i.e., HO would have higher DPS, human has extra feat & heal amp, etc.
    • I went rog 8 for W&S Mastery III and Imp Uncanny Dodge; both are nice survivability bonuses for epics, IMHO. But rog 7 / barb 1 would also work, if you'd rather have +10% run speed & +1 PA enh, particularly if you plan to TR again. Or lvl up with a barb splash then LR +1 to get rid of it @ 20 to switch to ftr 12 / rog 8.
    • Once all the DPS feats are taken, there's some wiggle room with what's left. I like using tactics feats, so I picked up Stunning Blow+CE+Imp Trip; and as a dwarf I figured I'd add epic Toughness to emphasize just how, well, tough she is.

    Default Favored Soul Trapper

I'm new to the multiclass side of DDO and am interested in building a Favored Soul trapper-- solo ready but good for group support at high levels. Sadly, I don't have the depth of experience I see in this forum, and know the experience here could provide a build that would provide a mix of healing and buffs, good fighting skill, and trapping that will come in handy during raids and epic quests.

I have access to 32-point builds and vet level 7. Can any experienced players help with a build?

    Thanks!

Very nice, thanks for the build unbongwah! I'll probably adapt it a little for human, and go with the rog7/barb1 variant. Much thanks.
Furthermore, I believe that the bugs and lag must be fixed.

That's what I figured, but I was hoping to be wrong. Unfortunately, TWF just sucks right now. Ranged isn't great either outside of a few special cases. There's really no place for ranger except as a splash for the feats.

    Something to consider, definitely.

Ranger 12 is also +1 will save and an extra 3rd level spell. In the grand scheme I don't think it matters much. Elemental weapons is nice, but the low duration means I'll have to recast it constantly and by the time I take arty 3 I'll most likely be ready to TR again.

Either way, it doesn't look like the ranger I want is really in the cards. I have some XP pots I want to use up and figured I'd use them on one of the weaker class lives I have left (bard or ranger). I also have FvS, Clr, and Druid to go, but I have a feeling I'll enjoy those and be in no hurry. Any suggestions for a solo-capable Trapsinger build?

Haggle could be concentration, I suppose. The feats are based around eventually swinging a Mad Lute for melee, but they could be reworked. I could always take slashing early for greataxes, then swap later. I wouldn't mind fitting in Extend. Going for max spell pen would require a lot of sacrifices, and I don't know how much I intend to play this build past 20 if at all, so Eveningstar and its spell resistant drow aren't much of a concern.

It's always a shame when the hammer of poor design choices smashes the fun of player tactical adaptation.

ok. i been playing around trying to find a good build for a half-orc monk/pally. not sure if it is very doable but I just seem not to be able to actually get it to work very well. main reason I am working on this build is because i was doing some research and it looks like a mmonk would actually benefit from some of the pallys buffs and also form their aura. so far i have only gotten up to about level 9 total monk6/pally3 and i am starting to have some problems. if anyone can actually help me out with designing this i would appreciate it. (TWF with either handwarps or longsword/shortswords as ki weapons)

    Default Shiradi build

    Hello,

In some other thread someone recomended me to start (a 32pt buid, first life, no fancy gear) with a shiradi build... but what would one be like?

Couldnt find one using forum search!

    Thanks in advance!

If you're talking about this thread, there's a link to this build in it. Bear in mind, though, that while the build is technically a first-lifer w/out special gear, it'll take you quite a while to get your ED + Twists in order; until then you're "just" an ordinary WF sorc.

When Ninja first came out, there were some monk 6 / pal 14 builds using short swords; Zeal + Wind II stance got you 15% doublestrike. Normally handwraps on a monk splash are better DPS, but some of the pally abilities (e.g., Divine Sacrifice, Smite Evil) work better w/swords; and a "Ninjadin" w/dual Celestias is probably pretty fun. Basic build would be: TWF x3, IC:Pierce,Power Atk, Dodge (Ninja pre-req), Toughness, with 5 feats left to spend; I'd definitely pick up the CL/GC/OC chain & go LD for ED. For stats: enough DEX for ITWF/GTWF, enough CHA for Divine Might II, decent CON, rest into STR.

Default I'd like a build that...

Uses, in some way, the Druid past life feat (flaming scimitars). I don't really want to play another monk, though.

    Default R.O.G.U.E Oriented Build

Hi I'm relatively new so I only have access to 28 point builds, however i'm motivated to start honing my sneaking skills XD. After I read the R.O.G.U.E forum thread I really wanted to explore how much is possible with stealth in the game. Especially with the new buffs to stealth.

Can you give me a F2P build that can be used for a 28 point build and after I TR a 36 point?

I do have the Delera Tomb quests as well as the Drow Race if that helps at all.

No specific race, drow would be nice but not important if for example Halfling would be a better choice.

Thank you for doing this ^_^!

    Default Utility Spellsinger needed

Looking for a 28pt (f2p races only) 18 bard/ 2 rogue Spellsinger. Most of the builds I've found are Warchanters or other multis that splash fighter, and that won't be of use to me since I'll mostly be playing as part of a duo with a pure fighter or barb.
So I'm focusing on CC and healing, with the rogue levels providing DD/Open and Evasion.
    Thanks for your time!
