The favored weapon is Greataxe, a final 19-20/x3 critical multiplier is always fun

As a warforged you get all the benefits but no aftereffects of Raging (except the -2 AC penalty while raging) seeing as WF is immune to fatigue :3

Also, combining Rage, the proper items, and power attack you can buff up your Damage to a HUGE amount while retaining a good amount of tanking abilities with Intimidate, natural DR, and of course your high HP count :3
I'm gonna have to try this out. I need a toon to fund a barbarian I'm wanting to make anyway and have just fell in love with WF....just fun to play despite the healing problem they have.

I may wind up posting the various builds I'm using and ask they be modified for WF. >.>

    Default TWF Half Elf Bard

    Hey Sigtrent,

Help me with this build idea:

When Half elf comes out, a TWF (possibly khopesh and kukri combo) bard? Possible?

Building a WF paladin with a primary focus on charisma is a lot like ice skating uphill. Nevertheless, here we go:

    Level 20 Warforged Paladin

Str: 14 - 6 build points (1 level up point goes here)
    Dex: 10 - 2 build points
    Con: 16 - 6 build points
    Int: 14 - 6 build points
    Wis: 8 - 2 build points
Cha: 14 - 10 build points ( 4 level up points go here)

Feats = Power attack, skill focus intimidate, 2 handed fighting, Toughness, Adamantium Body, Combat Expertise, Imp 2 handed fighting

    Skills: (from points only)

    Intimidate: 23
    Balance: 11
    UMD: 11
    Jump: 11

Basically put one point into each of the above skills every level. Only intimidate will be a class skill so the others will go up by half.

    Enhancements

    Level 1:

    Warforged Healer's Friend I
    Warforged Damage reduction I

    Level 2:
    Paladin Toughness I
Paladin Intimidate I (assuming this will exist)
    Paladin Charisma I

    Level 3:
Paladin Extra Lay on Hands I
    Paladin Bulwark of Good I
    Warforged Constitution I

    Level 4:
    Paladin Extra Turning I
    Paladin Extra Smite Evil I
    Paladin Resistance of Good I
    Paladin courage of Good I

    Level 5:
    Paladin Toughness II
    Paladin Focus of Good I
    Paladin Armour Class Boost I

    Level 6:
    Defender of Siberys I

    Level 7:
    Paladin Divine Might I
    Warforged Toughness I
    Warforged Toughness II

    Level 8:
Follower of the Lord of Blades
Paladin Extra Lay on Hands 2

    Level 9
    Paladin Extra Smite II
    Paladin Exalted Smite I
    (save one point here)

    Level 10
    Paladin Divine Might II
    Paladin Bulwark of Good II

    Level 11
    Paladin Resistanceof Good II
    Paladin Extra Smite Evil II
Paladin Exalted Smite I - the saved point from earlier

    Level 12
    Defender of Siberys II
    Extra Turning II

    Level 13
    Extra Lay on Hands III
    save 1 point here

    Level 14:
    Paladin Bulwark of Good III
save 1 more point here (meaning 2 spare now)

    Level 15:
    Paladin Resistance of Good III
    Save 1 point

    Level 16:
Paladin Divine Might III - spends spare points and you will qualify for it with the level up into charisma (bringing your base charisma to the required 18 at this point)
    Paladin Charisma II

    Level 17:
    Bladesworn Transformation

    Level 18:
    Defender of Siberys III
2 points to spend however you like (More Sp, save up for more toughness, more into exalted smiting)

    Level 19:
4 points here to spend how you like (Could do Improved Damage Reduction II for all of them)

    Level 20:
    Paladin weapons of Good
2 points here to spend as you like

Final stats without equipment or tomes:

    Str 15
    Dex 10
    Con 17
    Int 14
    Wis 8
    Cha 20

Final HP without equipment or tomes:

    20 - Base
    200 - Levels
    60 - Constitution
    22 - Toughness
    40 - Toughness enhancements

= 342 hp without any gear (pretty good)

Final AC with very basic equipment:

    10 Base
    13 +5 Docent
    4 Paladin
    9 Tower Shield
4 (Self cast shield of faith)

= 40AC (not nearly enough, but you can easily enhance this)

Final Intimidate without equipment: 32 (Equipment makes all the difference here, your intimidate will be fine for most of the game, by the time you get to something like Hound of Xoriat you will have enough equipment (and buffs from allies) to make your intimidate workable.

    Such as:

    23 from ranks
    3 from skill focus
8 from charisma (assuming +6 cha item - this should be a priority)
    15 from Intimidate Item
    4 from Greater Heroism
1 from paladin enhancement (easily raised to 2)

So you end up with a fairly easily achievable: 54 - this isn't quite as much as it really needs to be for top level content in the game, but extra gear and buffs can push it even higher, and it's about as good as can be sensibly achieved on your build.

    Final thoughts:

This build is compromised by virtue of you wanting an intimitank pure paladin on a warforged. However it will be a very tough cookie, particularly when in the Defender of Siberys Defensive stance. Damage will most come from Divine Might so be sure to use those turns wisely. Your turning ability will be decent, but to be honest turning things in this game is still largely pointless beyond level 10. Defender of Siberys generates mob aggro by hate (damage caused) rather than by skills, but it still matches up nicely to a tank build.

The build is far from optimal but it manages what you wanted it to do. Ultimately this is the character you wanted to play and of course it could be optimised by altering the parameters. For example look at what happens when I do the same thing on a Drow:

    Str 14
    Dex 16
    Con 12
    Int 14
    Wis 8
    Cha 17

On a drow I get less Hp but a massive amount more charisma, more dex to add to armour class and take advantage of the prestige bonuses (or even go TWF) and by applying the level up points different I can either end up with 16 Str and 20 Charisma, or 18 Str and 18 charisma. But then you'd be playing a drow and just another drow paladin
Wow, thanks. I knew it would be tough to do as WF and paladin. Later this week I'll kick it around and see how things go. I'm guessing splashing some fighter would make things a bit more bearable?

Default ok, here's a toughy-half elf wis dex dark path monk

Yeah, I know, no one wants to do something that stupid.

    Except maybe me.

Strictly for fun, would like to take it to 20 and expect to have to LR a couple of times as I learn more about monking and helfs.

I have 32 point available but can work from a 28 point build.

you know i would like to see, 'The Gold Digger' or 'Treasure Hunter'

basically it is a Human build centered around the Dragonmark of Finding, getting at loot, and making most money possible. while still staying playable in combat, though in a support , buffing and trap cracking.

so a Human Dragonmarked, Trapmonkey, Haggle bot. 'The Gold Digger'

As I was rolling this up, I got to thinking about maybe adding a few fighter levels for feats and maybe a bit more versatilty and just going strictly THF for hate tanking in addition to the intimidate.(glancing blows and all that). Thoughts?

I wouldn't do it. What extra feats are you going to add? What would levels of fighter bring to the table?

The Paladin capstone "Weapons of Good" is extremely powerful and by multiclassing you would lose out on it without any perceptible gain.

Additionally gaining the third tier of Defender of Siberys will really help your tanking. Enough hate will be generated by this prestige line, and if you want more hate then Warforged can happily provide it in the form of Brute Fighting.

What limits this build is that it's an intimidating warforged paladin. Changing the build won't change the limitations of a an intimidating warforged paladin. Stay pure and don't look back, I think it will be a fun build to play and will do an impressive amount of damage in the end game whilst being _very_ hard to kill.

I want a twf build that maximizes dps. I want it to be either elf or drow. Sort of want the khopesh proficiency to come at a higher level, because the prices i am seeing for good lower lv khopesh are insane... maximizing dps is a priority, but id like it if it were a tempest or kensai build

What sort of weapons/gear should I keep an eye out for while leveling? Thinking Carnifex would be nice. I know there's THF in the build but don't know about Defender of Siberys; is it "sword and board" or does it matter?

Carnifex is a really great weapon to be used when leveling, especially because it is independent of Improved Critical feats.

There is one enhancement whichs put some weapons in favor of other: "Follower of the Lord of Blades" adds +1 damage to Greatswords, but it actually depends on the greatness of the Greatsword if this makes it better than, e.g., a Carnifex.

For the S&B vs. THF question: Actually, you as a player have to decide when it is better to use a large two-handed weapon to get as much DPS as possible, or to turtle up with a Tower Shield. Against trash, portals and Harry, the former will be better since you will seldomly use Intimidate. Against tougher Minibosses or other, intimdateable bosses, turtling up has a higher benefit for the whole group.

Anyway: The choice of feats and stats is not done in a way that you get the highest possible AC. This would require taking the Dodge feat, which would cost another one or two build points.

    Default H-orc monk

Greetings. I love playing monks, but always have difficulty with their balance considering the range of stats they require. So, i thought I would ask the experts (y'all).

I am looking for a good all around Dark monk half-Orc build, high DPS but without totally sacrificing AC and abilities. For monks i traditionally use hands (handwraps) but am willing to broaden my horizons if that is the will of the collective.

    GO!

    (Thanks in advance)

Default looking for bard/rogue skill monkey

    I am looking for a rogue/bard build.

I am open to any race because I am a P2P ' er and everything is open to me. I also have unlocked 32 point builds, so I'm good there.

I want the bard class for the buffs and the rogue class for traps. I am basically looking for a back row fighter who will have super high skills, able to unlock traps and buff the tanks.

fighting wise, I will probably just hang in the back row and make sure the healer doesn't get overwhelmed while shooting at people with wands or a repeating crossbow.

can you help me out with a build ?

The Diva's Bard Love Guide contains also a build section. You can find some Trap-Bards there. If you are interested in a 32pt-Version of my 18/2-Warchanter Twiddler, let me know.

is Sigtrent still doing requests? If so I really would like to request a Half-Orc Monk who has good survivability and can solo very well. I mainly solo. I would like for the Monks good points to play off of the Half Orc's strengths. I usually like a Wisdom based Monk because I've read so much on how they're more powerful later on but a Strength build may suite the Half Orc better. I'll leave it to you'll to decide. I'd rather go completely unarmed though, using handwraps unless you'll think certain weapons may be better. A High tumble would be fun to watch this big guy doing flips and such everywhere.

I've searched the forums everywhere and haven't been able to find a pure Half Orc Monk build anywhere. If Sigtrent's not doing it anymore or has turned it over to someone else then will you please help me? Any and all help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

This is what I'm looking for as well. A pure Half-Orc Monk that uses handwraps 95% (if not 100%) of the time. I will be using stunners and I currently have access to 32pt. Builds, a +2 Wisdom Tome, and a +1 Strength Tome. Some of the other gear I have for him is the Jidz'tetka bracers and Spectral Gloves. I will most likely be picking up another pair of Titan's Grip as well.

Order of Importance (with **** being most important and * being least):
High AC: **** (How high can it get?)
DPS: *** (I'm guessing Shintao since the ToD was nerfed.)
HP: ** (Over 400 HP would be good. Over 450 would be great!)

I don't plan on buying any +2 Tomes because the asking prices on the A.H. are ridiculous. I do have lots of +6 gear however and I'm approching a few 20th raid runs. (Do +3 and +4 Tomes bind to account?)

And I don't know if it is relevant or not but my play style is usually anti-zerging and I rush through quests only when I have to. (Shroud Portals, Timed, etc.)

I am wanting to TR my Favored Soul into a pale master wizard. +2 Tomes are encouraged. I have the new epic shadow docent and the level 12 and 16 preceding it. I want to be a pure wizard. I am basically looking to maximize my spell pen/DC of necromancy school. Instant Death spells will be appreciated. Please keep this build end game/ raid friendly as possible. If you can please include a list of all spells and enhancements (perhaps by level), that would be immensely appreciated. I have decided to take my healer (Name is Akarr, who is an evil mage in Forgotten Realms) to the darkside..muahaha!
