My Builds: Tempest Kensai of Zen
Okay so I just watched the expendables and it got me thinking of a class I wanted to make. I want a human fighter rogue, focused on stunning, with good skills that uses thrown weapons for ranged damage (doesn't need to be a focus of the build because I will use them anyways but if it can get squeaked in all the better.) Also not totally dependent on backstabbing damage but can definitely sneak around and start the fun from the shadows.. He has to have stealth skills and if possible good spot, unlock, and disable device. Jump and tumble would be nice but whatever works. Medium to high DPS but doesn't go down with one punch (def. not a class cannon build.) I mean Stallone gets the **** beat out of him and keeps getting up. At this point I would like to stop the request and just inform you also that I only thought that movie was dumb fun and am in no way a die hard Stallone fan...lol. Moving on I have loved your builds so far and have made five characters directly off of them and have loved them all! This one would probably be closest to my play style. I guess he'd be a little close to the modern day batman build. I'm not sure. I hope I'm asking for a build you've already made. Like I've said I'm pretty familiar with your work, but I could have missed something I'm sure. That is a lot of posts to read when you've only been playing for a month.
My ideal play style with this character is to always have a hireling cleric with me and stealth up (or use thrown weapons) to get the party started and then to essentially beat the **** out of everything so they don't gang up on my healer. I guess intimidate might be good for me if you can swing it. With a full time healer I guess I might not need UMD although like I said I'm fairly new so any advice you can give me I will take to heart. Thanks for the time and ALL of your work. It's truly helpful for those of us that are new and still want to multi-class. You are the air beneath our...um... never mind. That was getting weird. Later
PS- I'm not sure how to know if you've answered this so I'll just keep an eye on the forum. Thanks!
Haha...I said air and not wind beneath. I need to stop playing this game and sleep...
It can be thirty two point build I've paid and don't mind tomes. I wouldn't mind some barbarian since the rage would make sense in how they kill or even a lot as long as they could take a hit. I made "The Butcher" build last night and I'm already excited about stuns. Its really fun. Thanks again.
I want an Evoker FvS, maybe with a monk splash for more AC. I personally, would like an elven race (elf, drow, half-elf) and 17 lvls of FvS (for the wings). I want him to have high AC and saves, high offensive spell dmg, good healing, and decent melee capability. Also, I have all races and 32pt build.
Thank you in advance for your help
Me and some guildies got to talking about intimi-tanks, and how they are amazing to have in parties because they severely limit the amount of damage the rest of the party takes, and makes for a happy healer. So I had the funny thought of "well what would it take for the cleric to himself be the intimi-tank". Having never really played anything but bards, my knowledge is lacking on the melee class and style of play, and AC is beyond me (as i never really had to worry about it).
So I challenge you, good sir, to make me this. A high AC cleric with a maximized intimidate score, at least 12 levels in cleric to acquire Radiant Servant 2, and still maintaining the most out of the healing spells available at whatever level. Not necessarily looking to start trouble with an epic level marilith, but something that works for general questing difficulties.
Greetings! First thank you for this outstanding thread, it is a real treasure of information.
Now to the build motivation: I'm an almost exclusive soloer as I'm quite busy in RL and soon to be new dad, so I really cannot commit to group play. I'm presently running a 14Cleric/1fighter/1rogue and I'm having lots of fun with its versatility (medium DPS, good heal and full sticky finger skills). With lvl20 in sight, I've been interested in the Valiance build (17cleric/2monk/1rogue) to take the soloing game to the next step. However, the valiance build is a little bit out of date (tomes no longer accessible at lvl1, grandfathering of Toughness that is no longer possible with Minos...). Additionally, it seems to be geared towards Endgame Elite/Epic with a reliance on some pretty advanced gear to achieve the AC/defense/saves around which this build is build.
My request here would be, would it be possible to "soften" the Valience build a little bit gear-wise and still make a very self-sufficient soloing character? I was very intrigued by your Untouchable 18FVS/2Monk and wondering if you could somehow fuse both builds as I really enjoy all the additional exploration allowed by 1 lvl of rogue splash.
So, with the Valience build in mind, could you suggest a 32 point (possibly 34point if I TR my current cleric) Halfling(?) FVS/monk/rogue build that focusses on Solo healing (high lvl group healing spells optional), very solid DPS (~70-80% of pure DPS character), rogue skill suite (and UMD?), with save-or die spell casting optional (just the self buff spells and damaging spells like BB, Harm...)
My non F2P build accessible options: monk purchased, FVS purchased, 32 point unlocked, drow unlocked, current Plat count ~300kpp.
Thank you very much
Best regards
-Sand
Could you point me to a good monk/rogue dps build.
Needs to have enough HP/BAB to stand toe-to-toe
UMD for wand usage, racial/alignment restriction
Search, DD, Spot
Stealth is NOT a priority
TWF - handwraps
I'm assuming there are a bunch out there, but most of the posts I've seen are pre-update 7. Monk may not be the class for me as I'm not much of a twitch/button masher but I'd like to try.
I made this topic: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=289383 before i saw this thread. But anyway I've been looking for a 32pt TWF Khopesh Human Pally. I'm new to the game so i don't have all that many resources but i do have a guild full of people willing to help.
The human pally builds i found were pally/monks and i keep hearing that i shouldn't miss out on the capstone.
I don't know if i should just go with the Drow pure pally builds. I was recommended human because of the free khopesh feat. Does it matter?
I just want a twf crit based build that's effective, fun, and somewhat self-sufficient. I just don't always know what my play times are and i want to be able to solo if i have to.
do you have a AA FvS that can do AA as soon as you can take the enhancement (i don't mind if its not good at first but i think it will occupy me for quite some time)
32 Pt Build - Possibly +2 Tome on all (from DDO store)
Monks and Paly's do well with WIS, both have good saves. With Monk's evasion and general coolness could an effective Tank be made?
i'd like to see a 18 cleric/2 monk with radiant servant. Request details: Must be Half-elf with paladin dillitante. I'm curious if you can fit maximize, extend and TWF/ITWF Have plus 2 tomes for every stat, and will be 32 pt build.(possibly 34 but I haven't decided was thinking orc battle cleric for my TRing chick)
Current TR project -- Anshel life 8 of 20 ending up FVS
Side TR project -- Daciana (life 8 of 14 maybe)(Will be completionist druid)

I was playing around with my acrobat about a week ago and accidently found out what whirlwind looks like using handwraps. It's freakin great!
I'd love to see a build for an unarmed fighter using this feat. I'd prefer an orc or warforged, cause I'm guessing it'll be just that much funnier on a really big guy (my acrobat is a halfling), but human or halfling would both be good for me too.
Since CE requires a good bit of intelligence, I was thinking rogue would make the most sense to multi class with. I don't have my heart set on this, but a little utillity from the build would help keep it interesting if it winds up a little weak in the combat department.
I have access to 32 point build and all races and classes. I also don't mind using any +1 tomes, but I'd like to keep it down to only two or three +2 tomes if possible.
Hey.
I'd like to request a good rogue build, preferably as a drow. My goal with the character is to mostly solo, have strong "rogue skills" and good DPS. That's all, really.
I would like a build for a Dwarf Rogue 20 with Assassin III (28 pt, minimal or no tomes), with as much critical-boosting stuff as possible, and making best use of the poisons. If possible, give tips for what to take at low level that can be be switched out later, if that would improve it.
EDIT: Hopefully soloable
RE-EDIT:Never mind the rogue build, I found a good one (don't know how to do a strikethrough or I would just do that to my post)
Something I would like is the following:
A build optimized towards using the Locate Objects spell you get from the Dragonmark of Finding. So as many proficiencies as possible, probably. Obviously a just-for-fun build.

I was listening to DDOCast this evening and heard Sig talking about a Monk Tank. I didn't see the build listed on the front page yet, so I took the liberty of jacking around with it and I'll post it here. Sig, please tear it apart.
Highlights
Great AC
Great Saves
Improved Evasion
Good DPS
Shintao dr bypass (cold iron AND silver)
Strong Stunning capabilities
can tank with hate generation or intimidate
Full UMD
Warforged + Monk Immunities
Tradeoffs:
doesn't get the 10 dr, +1 centered AC, concentration, and ki generation bonus that comes from 20 monk levels
CHA isn't very high, somewhat limiting Intim (mid 50s) and UMD (high 30s)
DPS is merely good, not amazing
HP will be low, around 500, which combined with improved evasion and great saves should still be sufficient for most tanking situations.
Playstyle:
This toon will be a great tank in nearly all regular quest situations. He can move faster than other toons, ensuring he will be the first in each new fight, grabbing initial aggro and then keeping it with intim and superfast swings. He will also constantly stun his enemies making DPS toons super- with lovely auto-criticals. Most monsters won't be able to hit the Tonk.
The Tonk can use his speed and intimidate to lead the right group through just about any quest without a dedicated healer, making him the battle-cleric's best friend.
I'd enter every quest with PA on, using stunning handwraps (my icy burst, flaming burst of stunning +10 come to mind) to see if the lower AC makes a difference. If it does, I'd swap PA for CE. If the monsters are still hitting me, I'd switch to my kamas (+4 insight). The idea is that you want to go for highest DPS, while not getting hit. If you are getting hit, swap out the items and abilities to raise the AC.
Having UMD makes everything so much easier. The Tonk can cast healing scrolls, raise dead, shield wands, stoneskin scrolls, energy protection and resistant wands, and use weapons and items that are restricted to other races. Because the Tonk is hit so rarely, he will be able to self-heal with scrolls and wands in-between fights, rarely relying on dedicated healers. UMD is the super skill, and the Tonk has it in spades.
In raid situations, the Tonk can intimidate or hate tank depending on the boss' intimidate DCs. His AC will be in the mid 70s with the right group, and will be plenty high to avoid being hit except on 20s. Most raids requiring a tank are being hate-tanked these days because of the finicky nature of intimidate, and the Tonk can switch to DPS with wind stance and power attack and using Shintao DR breakage and warforged hate generation bonuses, should be able to generate enough hate in a short amount of time to keep the boss' aggro throughout the fight. Once aggro has been built, he can switch PA to CE, and using his GS insight kama, should be able to avoid most of the boss' swings. Don't forget improved evasion and super saves for negating most of the damage from boss spells.

Known changes from the build on DDOCast:
Race:
changed from human to Warforged.
Reason: My monk 20 is warforged and I want to test this out with him. Plus, more HP and access to a handful of synergistic enhancements (hate building, tactics, and bonuses to Power Attack. I lose the cool dragon mark and the feat slot it came in. I lose some skill points as well, but the only real damage that did was to reduce my Concentration by a few points. Join the master race: Warforged.
Feats:
Lost Dragonmark of the Sentinel and the slot it came in.
Reason: warforged, not human
Added Deflect Arrows...Don't remember what I traded for it.
Reason: I will be intimidating all mobs, it's awesome to force auto miss chances on the archers when I can get their aggro.
Enhancements:
Removed Rise of the Phoenix enhancement and all it's prereqs.
Reason: Not needed for Shintao when I have Monk Recovery III. I've hd Rise before, and I find that is only useful in dysfunctional groups.
Added Grandmaster Wind and Mountain stances, removed Ocean
Reason: The wind stance is key for DPS, especially when STR is kinda low. If I can't hit hard, I have to hit often. The Mountain stance is great for dr tanking and the mountain strikes are king for light monk DPS. Ocean stance is good for improving saves, but this guy's saves are already through the roof. The WIS bonus is also good for AC, but I can get the same bonus from Wind.
Used leftover AP for warforged goodies like the bonus to hate generation, power attack, healing amp, and CON bonus.
Please post comments! Again, I posted this build here because it is inspired by a build that Sig did on DDOCast. I will also post it in the build forum.

I have been using the Bastard Paladin human build for a while and love it. My request would be a multiclass with a 2 or 3 lvl splash of paladin for lay of hands and divine grace and the rest fighter and rogue. I would like to stay rogue heavy for backstabbing but fighter for the feats and hp. I basically want a backstabbing beast using higher damage weapons. Would prefer two weapon fighting. I haven't seen one of these yet. If there is just point me in the right direction. 32 pt builds...WF, Drow available. Tomes aren't an issue. Thank you in advance either way.
