Just start one fighter and presume leveling order after and feats as suggested. Work it out on paper first just to make sure. As long as you have the stats and BAB, there shouldn't be an issue. You may have decide to ditch half the points in one skill by not having ranger upfront. I don't know what he was taking but they're mainly preference anyway. UMD for resto/raise/fire shield, Search for extra xp in some quests, 8 points in bluff or diplo for a handful of epic quests are all I worry about in example on low skill point characters. Take the monk feats with the monk levels though. About the best you can do, but at least you have 15 levels to play with. You should be able to make everything work out. If you're wanting a ranger PL, don't take fighter or monk higher than 6 levels.

Lightbulb A Question Regarding Your Half-Pint Mechassin Build

Fortunately, you'd still have high base DEX anyway for your ranged feats, if nothing else, so DEX to damage from Assassin cores is a reasonable backup.

Also the silver lining to no Harper is you can afford the 41 Assassin / 31 Mechanic / 3 Acrobat AP split I mention in my thread.

That said, you would be better off sticking with a regular pure Mechanic (or Assassin) on a halfling rogue, IMO. The Mechassin was always a flavor build, but losing the human bonus feat makes it even tougher to pull off.

Having said that, if you still want to give it a go - well, I respect the crazy, so here's what I would do.

Rather than INT-primary DEX-secondary, I reversed the key stats, since (A) I still see this as primarily a melee build in the long run, so without Harper I focus on DEX to damage for melee and (B) it's more F2P/newbie-friendly since you don't need any tomes this way.

Although as with the original Mechassin, I recommend focusing on great xbows for early leveling. Naturally if you wish to melee first, you need to tweak Enhancements and possibly feat order (take TWF sooner). In the long run, I'd use a keen repeater, such as Fatal Flaw or the new Stormreach Guardian. These become 17-20/x3 with Expert Builder.
Hello Unbongwa, I've been following this build closely (although I did take two weapon fighting at third and will take precision at sixth level) and I have to report my rogue is doing fine. However, I am puzzled by something in your guide.

Why do you suggest that I reset Mechanic at 12th level? I ask because I want to know your reasoning so I may learn to make my own builds in the future rather than blindly follow other players by rote.

    Thanks!

Related... I read a comment in the ddowiki that halfling paladins tend to have the highest saves of all paladins and one of their common builds is a healing paladin. Inspired by that information, I dived right into the deep waters! *laughs at my own naivety*

With my twenty eight points, I gave him an 18 Dex, 14 Wisdom, 14 Charisma, and a 14 Constitution. I chose Least Dragon Mark of Healing and Follower of the Silver Flame. Now the Action Point plan is probably crazy but I intend to go mainly into the Hallfling tree and get the capstone then supplement the build with Knight of the Chalice. As my pally levels, I plan on choosing feats which support healing.

By this time, I expect to hear cries of dismay from the Raiding Reaper crowd. Oh well. Not going to be there for quite awhile. *snicker*

So, does my off the wall idea have merit or is it seriously flawed? I'd love to hear your feedback on it.

    Peace, love, & halflings,

    Trig

At level 12 you have 48 APs total. My recommendation is to split them: 3 APs into Acrobat for Fast Movement; 11 APs into Mechanic for Targeting Sights (INT to damage plus light repeater proficiency); and the rest into Assassin for tier-5 abilities (Assassinate and Knife Specialialization being the first priorities). It's a little hard to tell from the leveling guide, but I spent more than 11 APs into Mechanics while leveling for things like Sharpshooter and Ooze Flask. I reset Mechanic at 12 so I could redistribute some of those APs from Mechanic to Assassin; since there's no way to "partially refund" APs.

...I honestly have no idea what you're trying to accomplish here. Is it an archer? A holy medic? Neither? Both?

Highly recommended for any/all who are going to do their own build, or their own spin/tweak off any existing one. Even just following a posted build, it's often really handy to have a "level by level plan" offline.

Well, when I first mentioned it, I had this idea of a holy medic who used a longbow to work around the low strength, high dexterity which halflings have. Unfortunately, looking deeper into the matter, the idea doesn't work. Paladins and longbows don't mix. So, dropping the halfling healadin archer idea. In fact, dropping the whole halfling paladin idea. It's a dead end for a free to play player.

Default Looking for a build: Paladin / Favoured Soul S&B Tank

    Hey there.

I'm looking for a S&B Paladin / Favoured Soul build.
I want to use charisma for attack and damage.

The char will be played in a five man group and is the only tank. Damage output is nice but secondary, since we have DDs.
The Focus should be survivability and threat-generation.

It will be the first reincarnation, the char already has a +1 dex tome , a +3 con tome and will get another +2 tome.

It would be nice, if you could support my idea with some links or hints.

    Cheers Lyc

Nerfed in update 42, taking build down. Also don't believe nerfs to pure classes due to multiclassing is healthy for game.

Default 12 Wizard 6 fighter 2 monk WF great sword user

I have been out of the game for a while now and decided to go completionist on an alt. I have a huge collection of great swords and docents being this toon has been Warforged most of his reincarnations. I was looking into a wizard/fighter/monk build but keep coming up suboptimal when I go through with the character planner. So I have come here to request a build for this toon. Please help.

Should be an easy conversion to WF. It's up to you whether you stick with wraith form (which negates most of the incentive to being WF in the first place IMO) or stick to robot form so you can Repair/Recon yourself instead.

Longswords are plentiful, and Sovereign Host has an emergency heal, so lets use those.

Wizard hasn't changed much in recent years.

Dump the "trapper" half, and rock on. Heroic Easy is a cakewalk for almost any build, and that one is solid.

    Default Warforged Melee Artificer

Deleted old post about melee arty.

    New request:

    WF Caster and Repeater Arty.

    20 Arty Pure.

I used to Run "Dubble O Seven" build, but I can't find it anymore.

I have been away for a year and a half and I am pretty sure on me being terrible at building now.

A link to that build would be great or an updated version.

My old Arty playstyle was to shoot monsters, then lay down Flaming Turret or Blade Barrier and spam SLAs.

In party set up I would do that knockdown Spell, I think Prismatic Strike?

OFC buff others and Heal Scroll and stuff when needed. I never got the potion tossing stuff down. It seemed to take a long time and would miss sometimes back then?

    Anyway, any help is appreciated.

I forgot about that Thread...I was looking though the Artificer section.

I just found a 2 year old post by me that had a link to it.

Looks like the CThrutheEgo updated it recently so I am going to check it out.

    Thanks again!

Default A challenge maybe? Melee Arti would really like monk in it

I have one life left before completionist and its arti, my problem is i really dont like to play ranged builds, i just have more fun running in with monk stuff and using whirlwind attack and things like that, this being said i would really like to see a monkarti build, can have a small amount of monk, but i have so much monk gear that its just easier for me to splash it. I have +6 tomes and access to all races

Monk 6 / ftr 6 / arty 8 or maybe arty 10 / monk 9 - just ignore the arty stuff (apart from trap skills for extra XP) and play like a conventional Shintao or centered monk / kensei.

So take a couple monk levels on a warforged, and play as a monk, then arti levels for reconstruct SLA out of RM. Take monk whenever you don't need more healing, and arti levels for caster levels on reconstruct otherwise, and play as a monk.
