With the forthcoming buffs to Kensei, I think we might see a resurgence of monk 12 / ftr 6 / <splash> 2 builds (or monk 6 / ftr 12), if Turbine actually fixes Kensei so it works right with handwraps; currently Keen Edge is bugged and doesn't apply to unarmed atks.

Hi. I've recently started playing again and was introduced to the strength of epic past lifes. I think I went with one toon from 20-28 back in 2013, where I also maxed out all ED's with 6 million karma. But after that I have not spent any time in epic and would like to do so again.
What I am looking for, is a build that can solo 20-30 (most preferably) on EE. My main issue with most builds I come across that can do this, is that they list 15 items that are needed to accomplish this. So bonus points if it has a very low item-requirement entry. I would also like it not to be harper or warlock, as I have not unlocked those yet. Other than that it does not matter too much: 36 points, +4 any tome, any ED-sphere, any ranged/melee/or caster playstyle, any heroic equipment, any heroic PL's, etc.
    I hope it is possible.
    Thank you!

There are many far mor experienced people than I but I can say I have done this on Swashbuckler. Do a search for Count of Monte Christo (Cristo?) on the forums... I used a build similar to that.

    Default Dwarf Fighter/Warlock/Rogue build idea

OK. THis is my first time trying to really MC a build so be gentle and forbear my noobiness.I thought behind this is to get enough lock levels for shining through for HP. I am hoping for some synergy with TYWA and CON points. Level of rogue for chests and fighter for the new perks. End Goal? DPS with serious durability from Dwarf and fighter enhancements. So, what do you think? Feed back is needed I am sure from the building masters. .Dwarf Figher14/5/1 Fighter/Warlock/RogueLawful Good DwarfLevel Order1. Rogue 6. Fighter 11. Warlock 16. Fighter2. Default Deep Gnome: Illusionist Enlightened Spirit (Great Old One) - Warlock Wizard

Posted this in the wrong thread I guess, so here goes.

Am having difficulties in getting the stats and level split right for a:
Deep Gnome: Illusionist Enlightened Spirit (Great Old One) - Warlock Wizard

Main focus is Warlock to get the heroic past life feat.

Made a mule with 5 wizard and 10 warlock but totally messed up my stats it seems.
5 wizard levels might be to much as it just doesn't bring anything, archmage requires to much action points just for a + to the dc?
The DeepGnome PK does seem to hit every now and then but not often enough to rely on it + a lengthy cooldown.
The PK from Warlock requires a decent cha score as well.

So the trick seems to be to have high con int and cha?

Anybody out there that has a viable build for this?

    Default Build Critique/Advice

OK so before I pretty much littered the forum with garble, I am hoping this one comes through better. OK. THis is my first time trying to really MC a build so be gentle and forbear my noobiness.I thought behind this is to get enough lock levels for shining through for HP. I am hoping for some synergy with TYWA and CON points. End Goal? DPS with serious durability from Dwarf and fighter enhancements. I had some limitations and I feel I may not have as good of a build as I think but....So, what do you think? Feed back is needed I am sure from the building masters. I am looking to build a "Little John" Flavor hybrid quarterstaff/bow user. For a static group. A Meele base with a strong ranged option. I want to start at lvl 1 so I would prefer a half ork. Could go warforged or pdk and just bank all exp till lvl 14 or so I guess. He must be big and str based would make sense flavor wise but not sure about power wise.

Third life character past lives of cleric and bard epic past life of brace. +4 tome (Yay July 4th sale) for all stats. Access to all classes, races and trees except bladeforged. Decent to very good gear available.

I tried 13 rogue 6 ranger 1 fighter. And found it a bit squishy on paper. Going str based the dex save is bad.. Thinking maybe Pali 6 Ranger 6 rogue 8? True he is flavor but I want strong flavor with good defenses, offenses and a capable trapper. Not asking much right?

Any way, any help would be appreciated.

Anyone have a link to a relevant Kensi unarmed monk/fighter build with the fix in u31 ?

builds that I am finding, I am not sure if relevant as something from early 2015 maybe obsolete from other perspectives of changes since then...

    thanks, Finn.

    Summary:
12 Ranger / 6 Fighter / 2 Rogue. Evasion, Stalwart Defense + Survivalist, good dodge, Manyshot + IPS, +1 to Crit range and multiplier with all weapons, THF line + cleaves.

Level Order: 1 Rogue, 2-4 Fighter, 5-10 Ranger, 11-13 Fighter, 14 Rogue, 15-20 Ranger. Run around in SD with a two-hander of some kind for the first few levels. Manyshot kicks in at 10, Quarterstaves become much more appealing at 14.

Starting stats for 36 points (other builds drop some Int for worse trapping, or possible 2 Str): Str 20, Dex 10, Con 16, Int 12, Wis 8, Cha 6

    Feats:
    Power Attack (1), Cleave (2), THF and Point-Blank Shot (3), Great Cleave (6), IC: Bludgeoning (9), IC: Ranged (11), ITHF (12), Dodge (13), Mobility (15), GTHF (18)

    Enhancements:
Thief-Acrobat (12): Staff Control, Thief Acrobatics x3, Acrobat Staff Training I, Quick Strike x3
Stalwart Defender (7): Toughness, Durable Defense x3, Item Defense x2, Stalwart Defense
Deepwood Stalker (38): Far Shot, Favored Defense x3, Versatile Empathy x3, Sneak Attack, Survivalist, Melee/Ranged Power Boost x3, Called Shot (either), Survivalist II, Thrill of the Hunt x3, Favored Hunter x3, Advanced Sneak Attack, Survivalist III, Killer x3, Merciful Shot, Strikes Like Lightning, Head Shot, Improved Archer's Focus, Extra Favored Enemy
Kensei (23): Kensei Focus: Maces and Clubs, Haste Boost x3, Reed in the Wind x3, Spiritual Bond, Improved Dodge x3, Strike With No Thought, Athletic Mastery x3, Shattering Strike, Critical Mastery x3, Strike at the Heart

Another option is to stop at 12 points in Kensai and sink everything past SWNT into SD for bonuses to Str, Con or HP if you switch to medium armor, but that's not my personal preference. You'd lose the benefits of the Survivalist chain from DWS, which would drop you 12 PRR and 60 HP.

I was originally going to explain my choices before detailing the build, but this ended up being a lot longer than I thought, so the TL;DR version is above. Here's an outline of my thought process. I'm sure somebody out there can tweak this and finagle some more power out of it, but at the very least this is a jumping-off point for you or for them.

Ranger 6 has some powerful incentives for bow use. Ranger 11 grants IPS for free, and since you'll want Killer from DWS anyway, Ranger 12's +1 Crit Range is pretty appealing.

Quarterstaves means you'll want at least 2 Rogue levels for Thief Acrobatics (+15% attack speed) and Quick Strike (+25% doublestrike with 80% uptime, or ~20% doublestrike). Rogue 5 isn't a terrible option due to the +1 Crit Range / Multiplier from T5 (as well as Vault, some extra +'s to hit and damage, etc), but it's a pretty costly investment for one combat style. The +1 to Crit Range is a Competence bonus, which means it doesn't stack with DWS's bonus, so we want either Rogue 5 or Ranger 12 (Ranger 11 is still on the table), leaving 11, 4, or 3 levels to mess around with.

Durability in heroics comes mostly from HP, but Stalwart/Sacred Defense isn't too shabby, so let's consider Fighter and Paladin for the remaining class. Paladin gives some healing (which you'll already have from Ranger), bonuses to saves, and a reason to stack Cha on a Str-based build. KOTC gives you Cleave with a 8-point investment and Great Cleave with a T5 investment, but isn't stellar for ranged builds due to the way Smite Evil works, and Holy Sword doesn't kick in until 14 Paladin levels, so I'm not particularly inclined to go this route. Fighter gives some extra feats and Kensai gives you some pretty incredible power with either your ranged OR your melee weapon (or you could alternate on the multiselectors and find a decent middle ground) and a Competence bonus to Crit Multiplier (which won't stack with the Acrobat T5 either).

At this point, I'd look at feats. Splitting between two weapon types means you might be feat-starved, but you're taking Ranger levels to soften the blow from ranged feats, and you have the option for fighter levels.

    Required feats:
    Point-blank shot
    IC: Ranged
    IC: Bludgeoning
    THF
    ITHF
    GTHF
    Cleave
    Great Cleave
    Power Attack
    Weapon Focus?*
    Weapon Specialization?*
*Prioritizes one combat style over the other

    Defensive feat options:
Dodge (Light Armor + Kensei's Improved Dodge + Kensai's Ascetic Training makes this pretty appealing)
Mobility (Same as above + Athletic Mastery)
Stunning Blow (With Kensai tactic boosts, this and Trip are pretty viable in heroics)

You've got 9 offensive feats that it'd be nice to take, 2 optional fighter feats, and up to 3 defensive ones, so at this point I'd say Fighter would be a good option. At this point, I think the best option overall is Ranger 12 / Fighter 6 / Rogue 2, as it gives +1 Crit Mult/Range for all weapons and 4 bonus feats. I would personally play this build mostly as a quarterstaff user, switching to bows for Manyshot/IPS for burst or large groups.

In terms of T5 abilities, DWS offers +5 Ranged Damage, an extra Favored Enemy (for a total of 4), 10% Doublestrike, 20% Doubleshot, +5 Melee and Ranged Power, and Head Shot. Kensei offers A Good Death, +20 Melee and Ranged Power, Deadly Strike and a redundant +1 Competence to Crit Range. In epics, I would guess this build would run in Legendary Dreadnought, in which case Doubleshot/Doublestrike is more valuable than more MP/RP. You won't run short on activated damaging attacks, so I'd be inclined to go with DWS, which also makes more thematic sense.

I posted a ftr 18 / rog 2 staff build recently; shouldn't be hard to tweak stats & feats to squeeze in Manyshot. One could do rog 2 / ftr 12 / <???> 6, but with the recent buff to One Cut, I'm loathe to drop it without good reason.

Use basic wolf in fighter forums, with monk instead of druid, and stunning fist/stances instead of shield/armor feats, and monk enhancements instead of vangaurd.

Lol! Perhaps he could modify the build, so it doesn't do pesky things like "self-healing" and maybe pick up a bit of dps from ???. Of course, imho, whatever dps he picks up will be negated by the time spent waiting for a res.

Seriously, though. Look at the enhancements. This build is the gold standard for a 2hf dps build.

The thing is there's not much you could do with Zoda to improve its DPS:
    • Feats: drop heavy armor prof for a Weapon Focus feat for +2 Melee Power; if you don't have Completionist, take another WF. With the nerf to armor MRR, the only reason to stick with heavy armor on a barb is for Shadow Guardian; but if you'd rather focus on DPS, skip it and stick w/med.
    • Enhancements: swap T5 Ravager for T5 FB (Focus Wide + Focused Wrath + Raging Blows + Tantrum), boost INT, invest into Harper for Know the Angles. So something like 41 APs FB, 31 APs Ravager, 7 APs Harper, 1 AP human?
    • ED Twists: drop Sacred Ground + Consecration for more DPS. I think the best-case loadout would be Sense Weakness + Wild Weapons + Grim Precision + Hail of Blows + Primal Scream, but that would cost 50 Fate pts and the max is 37 so OH WELL. Maybe just take the first three, since that costs 36 Fate pts.

So let's see what that might look like...
    Code:
Zoda is for the Feeble ;P
    Barbarian 20
    True Neutral Human

    Stats
                   36pt Tome Level Up

    Dexterity 8 +6 8: STR
    Constitution 12 +6 12: STR
    Intelligence 18 +6 16: STR
    Wisdom 8 +6 20: STR
    Charisma 8 +6 24: STR
                                     28: STR

    3. Grim Precision (Tier 3 Shadowdancer)
I know some people insist an optimal max-DPS endgame gear layout has no room for a Speed item, hence Blinding Speed. EDIT: obviously, you need to decide if you plan to use mauls or greataxes.

But I'm not convinced that's a meaningful increase in DPS while definitely being a significant decrease in survivability. The DPS of every soulstone is zero.
