    Default Ressurrect in Tavern

I know this has been brough it before, but it is an ongoing nuisance.

Devs, could you please place the ressurrection option window at the top of the screen or something and stop having it appear at the bottom where most people have their hotbars, and during a death it is very common for people to be attempting to click on a hotbar icon to attack or use a spell or potion, causing them to instead click on that annoying window box that appears down there instead. Or at the very least let it remember where we place the box. Or even as has been mentioned pop up a new box asking for confirmation that you actually want to it.

Sorry for repeating what I know is an old issue, but its an issue that is still here and never been addressed by Turbine from what I recall, and it's quite annoying. Just moving it to spawn at a different location on the screen is not a difficult code change, anything else would require a little more work, but as it stands now it's default location is horrible.

Or, since no matter where you put the box, someone will have an issue, how about a confirm box for releasing? There is a confirm box for recalling/finishing out, why not releasing?

The best suggestion I have seen is to have the recall button change to a release button when dead. That way, it is out of the way, remembers its position and is easily hidden.

Yup, no box at all is the answer! We have a specific button for leaving the adventure and there is NO reason it should not apply to releasing out too.

I susspect it was put there to grab new players attention, if they made it something you could cancel during a countdown, like recalling, that would be nice.

I kinda like having the box (albeit with a confrim function). It has that sorta "game-over" feel to it that you wouldn't get if it used the same button as finish out. I think the box psychologically makes the death seem more meaningful, for what that is worth.

Unless you play Permadeath, since when did dying in DDO have any meaning? (aside from the first week when Mod3 rolled out with high death penalty to XP)

Meh, I still hate dying. But, I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, so doing a mission without any deaths is a goal.

Still, I'd hate to remove something if it's having an impact on how death is viewed, as minor as it is.

True, it's not the presence of the box, it's the location. Why does it appear right in the bottom center, right over your character and where you were probably clicking to attack an enemy? Some Dev wasn't thinking when s/he placed it... (or was s/he? dum, dum, dummmmm.....!!!)

Hehehe. Maybe. But like I said, doesn't matter where you put it, someone will have an issue. A confirm box would alleviate that for the most part.

    Certainly true.

Although for the most part I would have no problems with any of the suggestions here. My main intent was that the problem can be corrected very easily as it is now. However it can also be corrected in many other ways as well, as have been presented.

Where it appears now is horrible, and moving it elsewhere would just require a different location set in the code without acually having to write anything new. Even simply adding the ability to remember where a person put the window would help, then it could be made to everyone's taste.

For that matter, even the idea of no box and just using the recall button would be fine. It does the exact same thing anyways...you wouldnt need a new special button for deaths. Granted in some quests, that would mean recalling twice to get to the tavern, which probably wouldnt be favorable. But it is precisely those quests where the problem really comes into play (ie Von 3).

That happened to us last night when a player hit that darn ressurect at tavern button when instantly killed by a beholder. He wasnt powerful enough to then brave VoN 3a on his own to get back to us, so someone had to leave the quest to help him. They both died, so others had to leave to help him. This added over an hour to get the quest finished, added multiple extra deaths, added multiple loss of XP due to reentering, all because of the stupid placement of that darn window...haha. Not to mention all the extra costs in wands, potions and such to get through the problem it created. None of which should have happened, and wouldnt happen if they would move it somewhere else.

/signed. A confirm box being I think the best solution.
