Default Dragon Armour for a Barbarian

So what colour should barbs go for? Personally I dont think any are any good for barbs....I was thinking Id go for blue, cause I like the look of it...

Am I missing something? Is there a dragon armour thats good for us barbs or should I have a look at relic armour instead?

Black scale is by far the best.

Decent AC, Acid resist, and most important a heal clicky!

Fixes all your stat dmg, fatigue, slowness, feeblemind, etc all in 1 go. Perfect for PvP, awesome for when the cleric does a bad rez on u and u need some hp, and great for soloing as it heals 140 dmg quickly.

    Looks really cool too.

As Shade stated (I rarely disagree with you lol), the Black is the best. The Heal click is kinda limited in use as you'll be raged far more than not. The acid resistance comes in handy though.

Personally I wouldn't worry about getting Dragon armor for your Barb. Any greater elemental resist of any armor you're proficient with is good, as is heavy fort armor. AC is irrelevant for a Barbarian after all.

But if you do get an armor, Black is the best choice.

I would have suggested white, free up a couple slots wearing it.

Problem is the extra benefits offered by white are moderate.. Moderate protection is not good for a barb who has a weakness to criticals due to low armor class already.. You should go max fortitcation and max AC if your going to go defensive at all. That means heavy fort and +5 protection.. (white armor is mod fort and +4 protection)

Really id like the black heavy armor undead guard the best, that sounds the coolest as it ups ur DPS.. But unf we gota use medium armor so we get a heal clicky, which is actually really great to have once you get the hang of it, even if you do try to keep raged all the time.

Looking at the black armor though -- the heal clicky is only a level 6. So, 60 HP once per rest. You're saving what, 2 pots? Only real benefit it gives you is the ability to heal an unconscious party member.

If you're a WF, the white docent might not be bad - +5 with +4 protection and a 3/x shield clicky. May free up a slot or bag space depending on what else you're carrying.

But, honestly, you're probably better off giving your scales to an alt or trading them to someone else for something you can get more use out of.

By the time you're running Gianthold missions often enough to collect scales, you're going against mobs that are going to ignore any barbarian AC. At which point whatever you wear is going to be all about the special effects. Fearsome, Deathblock, Greater Resists, etc.

Ive looked at them all and I suppose the one Id get the most benefit out of would be black, with the undead guard and heal clickie. The white only gives mod fort, which as we know is as good as useless. The blue has nothing to offer but cool looks imo.

I guess I'll get the black for my paladin then work on it for my barb.

Why wouldnt the Devs work on scale armour for us barbarians?

Honestly I didn't think it would be a big deal either .. But.. It turned out to be xtremely useful.

Heal is 10 points per caster level.. Not per spell level, spell level never changes so that wouldnt make sense. This armor, unlike the blue and white armors, is caster level 14 - Very good as that nets you a very fast 140 point heal. Plus all stat damage removed, as well as any fatigue, exhaustion, feeblemind and numberous other afflitions you may have.

Never used it on an unconcious party member tho, thats kinda a waste.. Planar girds do that fine and there easier to aquire.

Really like to use it up the stormreaver while navigating the spikes (well not-navigating them cuz I can just fly thru and heal up with no fear) Great spot as im usualy going as my rage runs low, so I clear my fatigue and fix any spike damage in 1 shot.

FYI: Heavy black has undead guard - no heal clicky
Medium black has heal - no undead guard.

Thats kinda a bummer. I was gonna go black on both my capped characters. Heavy black for Beherit, the undead guard will be awesome in the new MOD, and the medium for Eyern, I also thought the undead guard was on that...oh well, the heal is like a LoH's, and I know how useful that is.

Thanks all...two sets of black scale armour please...
