Default I get the picture, I quit ddo....

Ok, I get the picture, I not only have ****ed off most original people from Argonnessen, but now I have all my old guild members up in arms.
Most will not speak to me anymore or even wave since I voluntarily left the guild. I know I left in bad terms.
I was hopping to quit ddo with a bit more dignity, but I guess I can just walk away now, and at least keep a bit of it to myself.
Thank you all for the times, great, or bad, it was still good for me.
Since the beginning I knew that I was going to at least make a dent in the fabric of this server, whether is by leaving a lasting impression on people good or bad, or forming one of the servers biggest co-op guilds ever. I at least tried... I would like to thank everyone who has been a friend to me, mainly Lowe, and Eric. And the few that where nice to me, most everyone else in AUM. I would also like to thank all the members of Tinted Faces for making my ddo experience a living hell every day, and to the people I have ever rubbed of on the wrong way. I AM SORRY....
I wish you all luck and tons of enjoyment in the ddo world, I will not be giving any of my things away, so please do not ask. I will let everything I own, and all my experiences in ddo die, here and now. I still have the same e-mail address, if any friends ever wants to get hold of me.
I will visit the forums once in a while.

    Goodbye to you all.

would you at least be so kind as to send back any items members may have given you, as well as any other donations that where intended for the guild house.

Thumbs up To the good times!

Well your probably going to take this the wrong way, but I for one will miss you. Maybe not since you formed AUM, but when we were in DMK together we had some good times, and I am truly sorry that you are leaving. See you later man.

Why leave? It is safe to assume that one may not get along with a monir or even a major group of people on a cluster server. There have been wonderful people you have played with, keep playing with them.

Sometimes a guild is not the way to go either. It can be harder when things get sour. Just turn off you mic for a while and have fun. Ignore the people that make the experience unhealthy for you.

Just enjoy. Start ona new server..

Join a xoriat guild and po everyone off.

This sort of stuff happens so often it amazes me.

I have no idea what, or who, has a problem, but geez, get over it.

This is a game - one that is played for entertainment/relieve boredom etc.

This is not real life guys - I cannot belive so many petty squabbles that appear in it, and are taken to heart like it is the end of the world.

If someone dislikes you so much, reroll another toon and dont group with them.

Why ask for items back? Can you use them at work? Do you use your Vorpal longsword on your partner? If you cared about them so much why give them away in the first place?

If you cant handle human interaction on the web, good luck for when you decide to get out of your chair and join the real world.

Dream - this isnt aimed at you in particular - but all and any that have posted threads like this.

If you have done something to alienate people, it is likely that things will go better if you refrain from such behavior in the future.

It doesn't matter whether you're in DDO, another MMO, or (so called) real life. If you put others first, you will be happy, and if you put yourself first, you'll be miserable.

NOT ACCURATE. Despite massive propoganda, forum recruitment, and spamming guild invites to the unguilded on the WHO list - this guild never really rose past the 2nd tier, or even the 3rd tier. It has serious problems with revolving door membership, and it's leadership (guild-founder and leader recently abandoned the guild suddenly, and new leader has a side guild project going and may soon do the same.) Even "co-op" doesn't really describe it, as one of the biggest knocks against the guild is it has few guild activities or guild groups. It's probably the most likely guild tag you will find while pugging.

Awaken, you really only need to break from the game for a bit, not quit it altogether. I figure you expected to break from the **** you run into in the real world when you log in, but you have to remember that the game is staffed by the very same people.

You may even want to try breaking from the current server as the break. You may find it's not all you. You will be missing out on meeting some good folk from Mabar tho, but I figure they may be the norm. You may want to create a toon on whatever server the haters from Xoriat were deported to. When you return the brats here will look pretty weak.

Finally thanks for building up the guild so well, its running under its own power and you have yourself to thank for that.

    Laters,

Taldrok I guess since awake is leaving you must be sad. No one to bash anymore. Now you are resorting to spewing lies about his former guild. Guess you need someone or something else to bash or your life won't be complete. And about the website yes it is down right now. It will back up again in the very near future that I assure you. When something like this happens it can either tear a guild apart or make it even stronger. Guess what we are stronger than ever. Sorry taldrok guess I'm compounding your sadness even more now. AUM is here to STAY!!!!!

Well, I hadn't originally planned to put any of this onto the DDO forums, but since you brought it up....

I can't speak for everyone. I can barely manage to speak for me.

But no one I've talked to in the guild has any desire for you to quit the game. Heck, no one even wanted you to quit the guild. Including the people who'd "expressed our dislike of certain courses of actions", which led to your leaving the guild.

No one expected you to put any money at all into the forums, teamspeak, domain name, etc, after you left the guild. We'd arranged for a new teamspeak server when we knew that we were going to need one, and I imagine we'll get a website going soon enough if we need to do that.

But it would be nice if you'd contact some of the people who are still in the guild, and would like to take over the website and domain name, so that we don't have to rebuild everything.

This sort of thing happens on every server... and its always caused by those small minded morons that have no lives and turn ddo into a soap opera which it is not meant to be... its meant to be a fun game, and for everyone who has beated down on awaken, grow up and get on with things, stop holding grudges like a pitbull with lockjaw!
Jeez, he comes in here to say goodbye and apologises and some morons STILL have to turn this thread into a battlefield... I dont think i have ever seen a thread with awaken NOT turn into a war zone because of a few pea brained idiots.... JUST LET IT GO FOR ***** SAKE

I know that i havent been a member of AUM that long, but ive been watching whats been going on and looked into it in our own forum to try and figure it out.
Awaken, i havent personally met u in game, but i would like to.

As an idea, make some toons on khyber and try playing for a while over there. PM me if u want, i have toons there already from aundair, and i'll come run with you, even drag my guildies over there along as well.

Just remember peeps, AUM isnt going anywhere... and this game is for FUN
Life's a b****, so am i, so build a bridge and get over it!!

Your credibility drops to nil when u constantly make threads saying your gonna quit and then you go on posting as if nothing had happened.

According to a study conducted in 2006 by Michelle Willbanks, psychologist at the University of Indiana, 98 percent of mmorpg players who publicly threaten to cancel do not. The remaining 2 percent return within 3 months. An astonishing 97 percent of players that do cancel their membership, have never posted on the official forums.

    Question

That article is referring to gamers that threaten quit due to game changes, is this applicable here? I was disappointed that the 'Frontline' article wasn't the the real news outlet Frontline from PBS.

I've searched for the "study in 2006 by Willbank's research team" and haven't found anything yet. I'll keep looking though. I'd genuinely like to know.

I am cautious however since 73.8% of statistics are made up on the spot.
