Default Weapon Request: Two Handed Pierce

Bring out the Spear or a Two Handed Hvy Pick

Piercing specialists are at a disadvantage.

Or, follow the D&D rule that anyone holding a one-handed weapon with no shield can use a two-handed grip and receive the normal advantages of two-handers.

I like Gimpsters idea... lets have it automatically work as a two handed weapon if you have that item equiped with no shield.

Forget the whole spear throwing worries, nobody needs to throw their spears.

The Dreamspitter from the Reaver Raid looks just like a spear, but uses the Quarterstaff attack sequence and hits with only Blunt dmg.

Couldn't that weapon be switched to all peirce damage? Use the Quarterstaff attacks for spears, and make every hit peirce instead of blunt. Seems like it would be easy to implement.

Just to clarify, for people who don't recognize the reference to "one-handed" as the category of weapons and not just whether it wields in one or two hands, it also doesn't apply to "light" weapons.

Basically, if you can Finesse it, you can't wield it in two hands.

Sweet. That's something to remember next time I don't have time to grab my shield.

    Special warning suggestion:

If DDO adds that PnP rule, the DDO khopesh should be another exception which is not allowed to be used in two hands. The 19-20/x3 khopesh is already overpowered for 1h use, but it would be even worse if you allowed it to benefit from the 2h grip, where it would do more damage than a greataxe or falchion.

Aw but I want my new SOS without having to deal with the new raid mechanic You might finally be able to find a random weapon that would come pretty close.
