    Default Porting to Console? Hmmm.....

I stumbled upon this just a bit ago:

    http://www.cytiva.com/turbin/ext/Det...asp?turbin1283

Does this mean that DDO or LOTRO is going to be a console game also?

    Very interesting....

looks like they are trying to get a port of the basic engine that both DDO, and LOTRO share to sell to console game makers.

That would be sweet! Looks like maybe it's more a matter of offering the underlying game engine to other developers to use, similar to how the Half Life engine is available. But, yeah - let's get DDO to the console crowd!

I doubt that DDO would be ported to console.

That would be a huge monetary investment into a game that just had server merges.

I played in early Beta for LOTRO. I believe that they use the same engine. Why else would they be advertising for some one who can lead a project to

"project to port and update Turbine’s award winning MMOG engine to take advantage of modern console systems"

I am not sure what else it could mean.

it doesnt necesarily mean that they are going to port LOTR and DDO to consoles maybe just the engine so they can creat a new online console game of ther own ti get into a new market for them.

Default Turbine and a Console MMO

Wasn't there a thread for this? trying to find it because i got some related news and it seems to be just gone.

BTw, all the threads about the atari lawsuit seem to have evaporated as well

(or am i just not finding stuff anymore?)

well whatever, here: Turbine & Twisted Pixel making Console MMO

Awhile back there were rumours about a new Turbine Console MMO and we all pitched in suggestions for what it would be, a DDO console version in everybody wish list but a Harry Potter MMO at the top of the Realistic guess list.

EDIT: Ooops, NVM, didnt notice that this one is in the Suggestion section, gonna start over in the general discussion.
