Reaver raid msg out of control

Yeah, and the message is especially irrelevant to lowbie people in the harbor, etc.

What really needs to happen is:
1) That message should only broadcast in Gianthold itself
2) When the raid fails everyone in the Gianthold dies.
3) When the raid succeeds everyone in Gianthold gets a +4 good luck buff for 30 minutes.

I kind of like the message, just wish it was smaller, and perhaps in a different spot on the screen, WITH the option to turn it off.

Since the merge of the servers it is happening every 20 to 30 seconds during prime time play. Limit it to the general chat box, but get it out of the middle of the screen.

This would be fun and novel if it was limited to the very first time a raid was beaten on a server never to be seen again.

It may be unintentional, but it does fit the definition of 'spam' to those not in the quest with ya.

Maybe make a town crier announce it in a specific area as it would be done in PnP D&D.

That way its on general chat and makes it more geared toward D&D. Unless someone really uses a loud booming voice announcing news to the people of Eberron in their D&D world. Then I guess for them the current system would be more realistic.

but about that multiple message/pulling problem, there are times when it must be done to revive members again, if ele's were not under control at completion, and killed again. the message repeating just makes this even more annoying for it lets evryone know you really were sloppy in there.

Actually it repeats more because of ppl using the mastermind lever over and over just to get their msg to show over and over.

How about the following as an alternative to the message.

Outside of each raid quest is a NPC who will tell you the last ....20? people leading the raid and their success/failure. It could even show the difficulty and completion times.

Something along those lines would hopefully mollify those who seem to want this sort of message. Though, I suppose they would also want some sort of record of the first 10 groups to complete it as well.


Regardless of what form this announcement takes, the global, middle-of-the-screen message has got to go. Honestly, I think I would almost prefer some sort of ad promising to enlarge my genitalia. After all, for some, that's all this is really about.

If they must have a world broadcast of this event, (which I don't mind in principle, but the frequency of the huge screen-blocking message is unacceptable) just have it appear in everyone's general chat.

It will still be a world-wide broadcast, but only be a couple lines in general chat, which won't disrupt us while we are in the line of fire.

Please disable the Reaver message. Was on last night and two people thought it would be cool to have their names pop up 5 times each within about a minute.... That was annoying.

Either disable it or allow individuals the ability to disable it.
