Default Question About Paid Loot Runs

Someone mentioned to me recently that ppl who can solo Invaders are often able to get other people to pay them to hold off on opening the last chest so they can come in and get their tokens.

So here's my question. If for the pit, i could go and solo it, then hold off on opening the muck's doom chest, do you think many people would be interested in paying a fee for the chance to join my party at that point for the chance of getting a muck's doom? How much?

I realize there's no guarantee they would get it, so that's part of my question.

Had never heard of that phenomena before.

I'm not sure how you would charge them and make sure they'd pay though. Probably be able to make a bit more by letting them in for the final fight to finish it on elite and then go for the chest. Favor and a shot at the club in the same run? Otherwise it might be better to just farm Muck's Dooms and sell them on the auction house.

Making them pay would be a simple matter of having a bookie wait outside the quest. He would invite them all, explain things and get the cash. After they have paid, he would invite me, who would be already waiting inside.

Not sure this idea would fly too well though. Just testing the waters.

Or, you could just trust someone to pay. 99% of the people on this server are honest. That said, I'd pay b/c I hate that quest and would like a couple more Dooms. The question for me would be, how much?

That's also a very good question. I've done a couple runs in a row with full parties with no drops, and also one run with two drops.

I was thinking of starting around 20 k gold, and guaging interest from there. It's an awesome deal if you do get one, even if you have to pay a few times.

Getting it done on elite and holding off finishing for ppl to come in for the 27 favor could work too...hmmm...

    First off, just for semantics sake you might specify that you mean in-game currency. {edit: which you covered while I was replying.}

As for the rest of it, I can see your intent to come up with a money-making hustle and that it's your way of getting some enjoyment from the game after you've gotten bored with it. I have no problem with that.

One problem I see is how you plan to advertise your venture. Spamming announcements in general, or posting a message on LFM/LFG are all unpopular, and enforced under the harassment rules, I believe. The 'proper' place would be on the marketplace forums, and that limits your potential customer base.

As has been mentioned above, it would be a far more popular product if you were bringing folks in in time for the final favor, as well as the 'Doom chest.

I guess maybe the feedback you're looking for is whether people will actually pay plat for that. I myself if I were wealthy and bored might jump in once or twice just for the novelty of it. If it was a reasonable amount of plat you'd be seeking - which would fluctuate depending on how wealthy I was at that moment. I know, that part wasn't much help....

{another edit} For 2K plat? Yeah, that falls within what I'd see as reasonable.

Yeah, I'd pay to not have to run that quest for favor. The favor to me would be more important than the item, although the item would be a nice bonus. ATM I always just skip that quest for favor because there is enough other favor out there to easily reach 1750, but I wouldn't mind crossing it off my list for all of my toons. Personally, I would pay up to 5K plat to not have to run that quest ever again.

everbright maces with elemental effects on them can now be looted.

you don't need to run the pit when running pop will eventually get you one.

I'd pay 5k plat each for a few of my characters who could use it. Hell, I'd probably go a lot higher than that. 5k is cheap IMO. Not that it's a bad quest, it just takes me a while to figure out which hallway I'm supposed to go down next and how to get there. The symbols on the map don't exactly make it obvious. It would of course be for the favor rather than Muck's Doom, so once per character would be enough.

Wait, I think we missed something rather obvious. In the origonal post it was stated that this was done for invaders. So, everything that respawns is just at the end again? Just curious.

Only respawns people coming in would have to worry about are the two huge grey oozes down in the lava, and they're easy enough to keep harmlessly occupied while people loot the muckdoom chest and pull the last lever to finish the quest.

As far as price, I'm not talking a price for a guarranteed muckdoom, not even close. Those things easily go for 1-3 mil gold on the argo auction. Last one I posted sold out in just a few hours.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure everything stops respawning after you kill the named boss.
