Default I hear what you are saying...

...but I can't get it out of my mind that this is all about loot. Why bother mentioning buzz words like "elite" or "challenge". And when I say loot, many will say duh, but it is also about the edge that is given to those with the elite loot and those with out.

Simple math, fewer people, more loot to go around. Therefore those that go into a raid light and are successful more often than not will eventually have every bit of loot that they need much quicker than if they went in with 12 people and had to share it.

Less loot for fewer people does not make sense; I'll give ya that, but if you are going to complain please do not say it is because of something other than wanting to stay elite. Besides, if you are able to three man a raid, could there be anything that you really need?

Bottom line this is about staying elite, and the power gamers know this, they just won’t come out and say it.

A bit negative, and yes I am not a power gamer, but I do have one capped toon, two level 13 toons, and all my alts created with at level eight or higher, so I do play more than a bit.

On the other hand, if and when this system goes into effect, all the regular gamers will have a better chance at catching up with the power gamers in terms of loot. Perhaps a little competition is just what is needed here!

    Default Questioning

Yes for those that say its about the loot - yes it is partially about the loot.

been playing PnP DnD since 1977ish and Shadowrun for abou the last 14 years.

All of these games are about experience XP/Karma.

BUT DDO has trivialized XP not really in purpose but becuase they cant move the level cap or add enough content fast enough to satisfy the people who are truly rabid players so what does that leave as a reward for playing....derrrrrr the loot.

I have 6 capped characters - all different all fun. I can only do xp based content for so long without being bored. So it becomes the loot that drives everyone and the camaraderie of the guild and friends. Its like playing a slot machine that always pays off but it comes down to if you hit the jackpot.

Raid loot is supposed to be the jackpot and tho there are like 40+ pieces of raid loot or something in that area there are only like about 8-10 that are truly valuable that you might want to build around - thats IMO anyway.

So yes it would irk me to put in the work with ZERO reward. At least now I know I can roll off against a small group of friends or bribe them etc some of the fun.

I like the new change dont get me wrong - better for large groups and newbs and all but I still think tweaking it a little to keep people like me and my guild interested isnt a bad idea.
The Ashen - Khyber - Gerbillee (Half 13rg/1ro/2w), Blitzkreig (WF 16w), Chipmonk (Half 16mk), Bandicoot (Df 15CLr) , Chinchilla(WF 16 Monster)- "Go for the eyes, Boo, GO FOR THE EYES! AAAAAAURGH!!" - Kaptan/Hamster/Lemming/Bandicoot all retired - "Terrible Hamster justice shall be wreaked on you!"
