Is Adar merging into sarlona?

Quarion mentioned the merger logistics depended on technology. For all any of us know, the character db's from our former servers will get scripted on a box at Turbine Central High Command, while the MCSE's configure a completely new cluster in a hollow mountain. For some reason the new server happens to carry the name Sarlona. Perhaps in a bizarre twist, it primarily uses machines from the Adar cluster. That sounds like work

I think since Adar was the original server in Beta, the server was poor performance wise in comparison to Sarlona's.

Adar has a strong economy where supply and demand drives the market. you guys are gonna cry the when you look at the auction house on monday.

I find it funny that no one from Adar has considered that now they might have to lower prices, thats right more supply, hence lower prices, more competition. Did you all forget your 11th grade economics?

actually, what i find to be fairly unique about adar's economy is that valuable weapons have such a LOW price attached to them

while i was playing on fernia, you wouldnt have seen a banisher on the AH for less than 2mil pp to save your life

on adar just a couple months later, i was seeing banishers going for around 200k - 300k pp on the ah (unless it was a rapier) regularly

when those same economics spill over to the trade forums, you find people putting up trade lists and given the relative value of items on the server it becomes very hard to find items that fit people's desires AND be able to come up with an equivalent trade - since no one on adar will simply trade something that is 'uber' for something not quite as 'uber' simply cuz it will help them more... 99% of all trades have to meet both parties' relative and arbitrary values.... which can be very unforgiving

so when people say you're in for a culture shock it simply means that we dont usually play around when it comes to trades - adarains simply have a reputation of being more stubborn and critical than most when it comes to their loot-swapping

maybe that will change with the server merge.

I think the loot weekends and Gainthold had something to do with that.

I would put disruptors on AH with no minimum except for the base value, had to many of them and few were RR.

I for one am pretty excited on having a server bursting at the seams with people running quests and whatnot. I know a my entire guild is actually pretty excited as well. Although we do not pug a ton, we do run a lot of quests with 4-5 guildies and 1-2 others and we are excited to see some new blood. Of course, there will some server loyalty, but I think that will only make it more fun. Now we have a little story for our Bio's, eh? We are world (or server) travelers now...

I have alts on Khyber and Thelanis. The game remains the same, EXCEPT the number of players has visibly increased. You see many, many more LFMs, and the who panel suggests prime time peeps or better most of the time.

I'm also looking forward to the Server Merge. Name conflicts be it Toon or Guild are of some concern to me, but If there is a conflict so be it. Change the character name. I think that I will keep it. The Adar shard has provided me with alot of fun and new friends from across the country and around the world. I will wear the name with pride.


As for the welcome and refuge posts. Sarlonians, Adarian's, and Aerenalions. All are welcomed whole heartedly to MY new server. Those who want to join me on a quest welcome. I will add the ones I like and the one I don't like Nice little comments ( Memory for names is not the best ) .


I will remember Adar server fondly, but in reality it has moved with me. If I like the new people. I will join in but if I don't then I will just continue with what I have always done. Enjoy the game I love and quest with my friends.


In conclusion old friends see you soon. New friends can't wait to meet you. As for the rest enjoy yourself , because I know I'm going to.

Hello everyone,
I just wanted to say that while I will have to think which server my characters are on for awhile.....We should all remember that it was getting difficult to find groups at low-mid level for those of us that weren't hard core gamers playing every day for 12+ hours. It was getting dull sitting for a couple of hours waiting to fill a group.
GH is fun but how many times can you really run it with a capped character getting 2k exp, for some so-so chests and the hope of a good (or granted sometimes great) end reward?
I look forward to seeing some new faces and, as always, enjoy meeting up with old friends.
Be nice to each other, we are going to be together for awhile.

hunter Gren, if you feel that people offering a polite welcome is treating you like a refugee, that's YOUR issue, not theirs. They were only trying to be nice.

Claiming it as "fact" that any server was more populated than any other is silly. None of us have numbers. None of us have anything more than speculation and anecdotal evidence.

Saying that Sarlona is now the "new Adar" smacks of childish e-ego. Who cares? We're all on one server now. We all have more people to group with. We all have more people to purchase nice items from. Is this seriously something that so bothers you and is so on your mind that you're going to try and puff your e-chest out and get all e-uppity about it? I'll apologize now if that makes me chuckle more than a little.

So you lost a character name and/or guild name? Yeah, I bet that's the players fault. How DARE they make the same character or guild name as you on an entirely different server? How DARE they not message you and check with you to see if it was ok. E-ego. If you have a complaint about it, file it with Turbine, they made the change, not the players.

Hell name the server Bob's Spinnin' World O' Eberron for all I care. Bring on 650xs the amout of players from Adar as from Sarlona onto it. Why does this matter when you're in a quest having fun with other people in the game?
