    Default evasion & mithral armors

    if i have a dwarf rogue/fighter, does evasion still happen in +5 mithral fullplate, i.e., does that count as medium or light armor?

    i have +5 mithral fullplate & i want to make a little dwarf who can dish some out, and take a lickin', but keep on tickin'

    if i have to wear some mithral breastplate to evade, i have some i can give him as well

    thanks in advance for any help

    Mithril Fullplate would be medium armor.

    Evasion only works in light armor, so you will need to use the Mithril Breasplates you have

    If you have the dex to support it, your best option would be mining von 6 for the KDS. I've seen tons of evasion tanks move to this option.

    Easy way to look at what mithral does is it lowers the armor class by one, spell failure by 10%, and Armor check penalties by 3 (min 0). It also increases max Dex AC by 2. (see DMG pg 284)
    So:
    Heavy => Medium
    Medium => Light
    Light => well stays Light

    and for evasion per PnP rules (which DDO uses at their whim) can only be used in light armor and with light encumberance. Which DDO changed to Light armor and medium or light encumberance; since we cann't drop our packs before we fight.

    remember also being a dwarf you can add another 3 dex bonus to your ac provided your dex can support it, so a mithral breat plate would go from 5 max dex to 8 even higher depending on how much fighter you take. Of course if you can't get your dex to 26 then the extra armor bonus does not help
