Hard part with paying is when sorcs and bards mention their haggle skill and want a discount from it. I mean when they start to do that I jack up the price and its their choice. Other pain is the ranged rangers who insist on kiting and trying to keep up with them to keep the trade window open for a money transfer is a nightmare. Sometimes is just as easy for them to pay the death tax ontop of a heal (and sometimes the mercenary tax if I didn't agree to bb and destruction beforehand).
I just don't understand how people say clerics are broke.. I just say they're in the wrong guild.

Best thing to do to keep your clerics in $$$ is to follow Hold's advice...

It's true... everything I learned about running my cleric, I learned from Holdifled... in fact, I have a key macroed to type out in party chat: "They make a potion for that!" when someone requests (pick one):
1) Lesser Restore
2) Remove curse
3) Neutralize Potion
4) Healing
5) remove Disease

it's when they say they don't have the pots that I come back with: "Well, how much plat do you have?"

Ah I see, well i buy wands for all that stuff. and i like playing that way. Thats just me though, I throw out the heals buff's that are needed and they do there jobs and I'm A happy camper.

I think if I could start pulling better loot, worth AH ing I would be a richer dwarf.

Hey Affro, we're just making comments for the sake of good-natured humor. 8) I run my clerics as healers, too. My cleric Dktr is entirely healing specced, and I run him as a healbot. My cleric Dctor on the other hand is umd specced, and he just does it all. 8). The way you run your cleric is just fine.

If you need any good cleric items, look me up in game. Both Dctor and Dktr have lots and lots of hand me downs.

I want to use this forum to thank all the MAC members that donated all thier ingredients to allow me to craft a MinII Falcion for my cleric. I know that he is not proficient with Falcions, doesn't really get into combat, is caster spec'd, and will only carry it to get PUG's wary when I turn up and say what healer. BUT thank you.
I know that I told a white lie saying that I don't have any ingredients, so everyone ponied up all thiers, but I needed all my ingredients to craft an identical weapon for my other toon (melee wiz that will actually use it). Since it took me ages to get all my ingredients I wanted a trial run on crafting as I didn't want to make a mistake.
so a BIG thank you.

Did you ever get that +6 WIS item you were looking for so your cleric could start casting spells?

Ahhh ITEM, I've been looking for a +6 wis tome. That'll explain why everyone wants me to do reaver since I just give away all them +2 tomes that I've been getting saying that they are junk and need a +6.

why on earth would a cleric ever need to cast spells... my clerics have been sitting on an 8 wisdom, since march 2006... the trouble with wisdom items is that they come on inconvenient locations: necklace (you'd have to swap out your scourge choker), helm (i'm keepin my minos legens right where it's at), ring (i've got my str item here and ring of the djinn), or a shroud weapon (I'm not giving up cloudburst, and I love my Mineral II Greataxe)... spells are overrated .. just scroll yourself the occasional heal when something gets in a lucky shot.... unless I get lucky on the Dragoncrafted armor lottery .. ya'll are just going to have to bring pots....

Just a story but something funny happened to me on the way to the crafting altar in part 5. We finished our raid , and luckly I pulled the last large scale needed for my tier 3 goggles. Now I dont know when or why I thought that **** skeley sold CHARGED high cell's but the shock and horror I felt as I pulled ZERO weapons on this particular run. (I am being punished I think... BWAHAHAHAHHH) any hoot, I got my goggles and it only cost me my +4 trans my +4 holy freakin spell pen scepter and last but not least my vorp and para DOH! yeah as a cleric I dont carry alot of weapons but damned if it didn't take them all. Well gotta run an check the AH and try to replace all them D-axes. the moral of this story is DON'T pull a affro at the altars!!!
