    Default Proposed new loot mechanic

This was given by a guildie of mine, and I think its a great idea.

You take the number of party members doing the raid and divine that in half. Then put that number, below 1 and thats you chance at getting raid loot (per person). So for instance:

Number of people on raid: 4
4 divided by 2=2 so you have a 1/2 chance at getting raid loot per person. Which means that an average of 2 will drop. 50%

Number of people on raid: 10
    10 divided by 2 = 5 so 1/5, meaning an average of 2. 20%

This would be changed into a percentage, this is important especially for odd numbers because a 7 person raid would give you a 1/3.5 chance, hard to do that with fractions. So everyone would have a 28.57% chance at getting loot.

    Any ideas, comments?

    Default Clarifcation at extremes

So, how would that work with a group size of 1?
I support old suggestions and ideas that were never represented, and may dig up some odd things in the process.
If I am doing something wrong, please tell me so I can fix it.

Basically, you want an average of 2 loots to always drop regardless of the number of people in the group with each member having a 2/n chance of loot in their name.
Each person has a 1/(n/2)= 2/n chance of loot and with n people in the group the total average is n * 2/n = 2.

The effect is that adding more people to a raid does not add more loot - it simply lowers the change each member of the raid has to get loot himself to keep the total average a constant 2.
The very obvious effect of your idea would be to never invite more people than you need to ensure completing the raid - which would be extremely bad for the PUG raid scene in particular.

    Very bad idea.

It's a terrible idea that would kill what's left of raiding in the game.
