its plain to see that this exploit is cause for the nerf to the raid loot but the nerf itself will most likely push people to exploit it more up till mod 5.
has anyone been banned for it?

I don't understand why anyone honestly cares what other people are doing? Do you feel you have been somehow cheated because someone else is inventive enough to figure out how to do something you didn't?
I am so sick and tired of the devs wasting time nerfing and changing the current content to make it "harder" because cry babies run around saying "someone is cheating". Wa...wa...wa... Cry some more.
What if the real reason you see characters going in and out of the raid is because they keep getting killed. Maybe they are just reforming, regrouping, and trying again.
I know that 3/5 Reaver raids are wipes, especially if you are running a smaller group. Even the most experienced players have the occasional wipe. All it takes is for the caster, clr, or other essential party member to get disinigrated and you have to start over.
Give it up. Anyone who cares is a wanker (and taking away form the future development of this game).
You all need to stop worrying about other people and play the game.

Losers cheat to win.
Cheaters are the ultimate losers.
And the ultimate cryers, Whaaa hwaaa whaaa, why should you care that I cheat? Im a cheater, that's what I do, how does it affect you?
Whaaa whaaa whaaa, I cant exploit the game anymore, Im taking my marbles and going home, whaaa whaaa.
And that would be, 'grammar 'school.
Perhaps you shouldnt have cheated so much when you were there.
Quests are built. You find the best way to tackle a dungeon. You do it. They change the rules... no biggie. Change tactics. Cheating no. Using knowledge, tactics, and available resouces for the best possible out come? Intelligent. Does an army or military exploit weakness in the enemy? Yes? Is this cheating? All is fair in war and love (or is it love and war?)
Banes etc would then be cheating, No? Well you are exploiting a MOBs weakness? Are you not?
This is disciple and order. Disciple is not crying about what others are doing unless if infringes upon others rights. This is a game. No one dies, kinda. Order is everything "living" up to it's maximum potential, effectiveness and usefulness.
Getting brownie points from the teacher establishes nothing, and accomplishes nothing. I'm sure the devs know about this with the reaver... mod5 fixes this... so just chill out.

I don't think they consider it a big priority anymore since the damage is done. Countless characters have all the reaver raid items so theres no fixing it.
The exploit is stll there just not as a bad. Minimum of 1 character must get on the timer now.
Don't think there banning for it anymore, least not without giving warnings first.
Mod 5 is aproaching and the new raid mechanic does fix it. You'll still be able to take alts into the reaver raid at any time but no extra loot will be awarded. Will allow you to get loot on your mules who otherwise cant contribute onthe quest tho.
I don't cheat and I never cheated at this game.
I logged an average 8 hours a day on this game for over a year and a half.
Everything I have, I earned in this game.
However, I don't care if people cheat. That just means they can't discipline themselves enough to do it the right way, and what fun is that?
I don't care what other people do. I think that is stupid to care and stupid to cheat.
I am just completely sick of the DEVS NERFING everything in this game because of cry babies like the OP.
Clam down OP, everything is more or less going to be made right soon enough.
We all know already the smaller elite guilds are getting all the raid loot they can get their hands on right now because after the raid loot change, it will be much more difficult for what I can see because of two reasons.
1. Less chance of raid loot, statistically anyway
2. More chance for regular level 14 chars to kill the Dragon/Titan/Mummy King/DQ/ect, as our level progresses the regular players can revisit these quests and get the old uber loot and catch up a bit.
So regardless if the small uber guilds keep on three manning the upcoming raids, they will have no greater chance at loot than larger regular raid groups, they key to balance here is to get eight or so reliable guild members and keep on raiding, in that way the uber elite players will not have as much a lead on loot as everyone else. Like others have said, don't worry about what they are doing, get your clan together and get out there killing the raid bosses!
A clean 1/3 of being elite, is the loot, that we can fix, now just get some good synergy with your guildies and you got another 1/3, that last one third, is all up to you.

WHINE WHINE WHINE WHINE WHINE.
My Commentary on this topic:
( WARNING - If you get hurt feelings easily, don't read further.)
You know, I'd really rather the dev's work on some new content than worry about soothing people's bent egos because they didn't figure out the best way to complete a quest or are worried that someone else might be a little more uber than they are.
The more you fuss about stuff like this, the less new content comes out because they're spending time putting corn starch in your diaper so you don't chafe.
The less new content that comes out, the more players get bored.
The more players that get bored, the more that migrate to other games.
The more that migrate, the fewer you have here to party with and provide funding for additional developments and corn-starched diapers.
The less funding you have, the less new content....
...and we're back to the beginning of this graveyard spiral.
Repeat as necessary until you comprehend.
Maybe get a book by Texas Bix Bender that has a quote in it saying, "A Smart man knows when to shut up." Make it a mantra.

LOL whats going to be next?
people will start saying that setting up a solid fog and then pulling mobs into is exploiting?
people will start saying that zerging with 5 barbs and 1 cleric is exploiting, because you all work as a team on 1 mob at a time, and they drop FAST?
people will start saying casters are exploiting because all they do is pk and FoD?
people will start saying clerics are exploiting because they carry 5000000000 heal scrolls?
people will start saying that dual wielding wounding of puncturing rapiers is exploiting because you do soo much con damage?
people will start saying zerging to the end of a quest for completion is a exploit because you are doing nothing?
people will start saying fascinating is too strong and using it all the time is a exploit?
people will start saying that that dwarven race and drow race is over powered and is a exploit to the game when all your toons are those 2 races?
people will start saying teleporting/greater telepoting/word of recall is exploiting, when you use it to run from a monster is exploiting the game?
people will start saying that displacement is a exploit because its a whole 50% chance of missing you?
people will start saying mutli classing rouges for example is exploiting when the MC can out do the full rouge?
people will start saying loot running the highest level quest for loot is exploiting the game?
people will start saying people short manning raids are exploiting?
people will start saying people running a 5 man quest is exploiting?
people will start saying the big 5 weapons are exploiting the game?
people will start saying cloudkill is exploiting the game because you CK everything?
people will start saying firewall is exploiting, because you spamm it?
people will start saying DD is a exploit because you use it to run from monsters?
people will start saying UMD is exploiting with you have 50 UMD?
give me a break!! all this talk about how this should be done this way and that is just a much of ...... if theirs a will theirs a way, and people will do it, all these things always get mentioned, and people come here and just talk about how unfair it is, and all this i play the game the way its ment to be, then we see your LFM saying, MUST KNOW THE QUEST WELL and all the tricks to it
The problem with condemning cheaters is that you assume there is a fixed line of conduct that separates cheaters from non-cheaters. This is not the case though, since what constitutes cheating is subjective. For example, hasn't anyone who's done the traditional kiting method for Von6 used an exploit? Surely it's not the method the devs intended be used (I think I read something about changes in next mod?), and it does make the quest easier than the methods the devs likely first envisioned would be used. Yet apparently 99% of the player base doesnt think it is an exploit, since everyone uses it and no one's whining about cheating. I'm totally against the idea of a person being banned for being intelligent or observant or figuring something out. I think the players and guilds should make their own decisions about what is cheating or exploiting and how they want to play the game. By all means, report an exploit you see as a bug, let the devs decide if it is unbalancing enough to warrant changes.
Personally, I would rather the devs spend more time on the game content and other issues than constantly revamping quests that arent as difficult as they had envisioned. Address the serious exploits like for the original reaver raid yes, but don't sweat the small stuff. When I heard about the new raid loot mechanic, I was happy because I thought it was being done to take away the incentive to exclusively run 3 or 4 man raids when others could be included but werent because they didnt need a non-essential rogue or ranger or whatever. (One time I had a reaver lfm up on my ranged fighter for over 2 hrs because we had no cleric, and another group with 3 clerics and a caster tried 7 straight times to 4 man it rather than join us despite numerous invites and requests for help.) Although the net result is the same, I would like to think the devs are making the change to the loot mechanic to promote grouping and not just to stop a loot exploit.
