Anon should be nullified when you apply for a group in the outstanding requests section. As it stands right now, if you're not fast enough or lucky enough to have seen the request at the time it was made you can have an entire list of anon's in your outstanding buffer and not know what the hell you're inviting to your group.

That is just ridiculous and is often a cause for me to ignore requests.

Secondly, if a person is in your friends list and you are likewise in THEIR friends list I think the Anon function should be nullified. If you are in their friends list it should be inferred that they don't mind you knowing if they are online to begin with. However it should not be assumed as such with them not having you on their particular list but they are in yours.

    'Nuff said.
Finite number of classes + Finite number of levels = Finite number of combinations. Your build is not special, you are not a genius, someone was bound to "find" it and you don't have a patent on it.

I would rather anonymous have a series of checkmarks.

Would like to be anonymous in LFMs (NAME only, show class level)
Would like to be anonymous on the WHO panel
Would like to be anonymous to Friends' Lists.
DO AWAY WITH DUNGEON ALERT< BRING BACK INDIVIDUAL DEATH PENALTIES!
It makes better players of all of us.

I like this idea.....But.....I agree that the class and level are essential in the LFM and Who. Maybe not so much in the Friends list. Thank you Dev's for taking the time to ask our opinions on this.

As stated by many before, I think that the anonymous function should affect the "Who" and "Friends" tabs only. If they join a group their name, class, and rank should be shown so that group leaders can make informed decisions. In addition, the same information should also be displayed on the LFM window once someone is part of the group so that other players who review the group "make-up" can decide if it is a group they want to join. On a side note, I dont think character race should be displayed as it promotes discrimination 0f our Warforge brethren.

If players want more privacy than what is offered by that structure they should consider the nature of the MMO experience and if it is really for them.

Default Changing anonymous requires changes to friends list

i think that anonymous should be

on who.... nothing at all... no name, class, level, guild
on lfm.... all should be shown
on guild list.... why should you hide from you guild
on friends list... well this opens up a whole can of worms..

Any plat farmer doesn't need to see you in the who list, all they got to do is run around and add you to his friends list. Its nice and easy since there is an "Add to Friends List" button. Why should we have to hide from our friends? Change the friends list. Clear everyones friends list, and make it so if someone wants to add you to thier friends list, the person getting added, gets asked, if he/she whats to be added to that persons friends list. With that there is no need to be anonymous on you friends list. You have control of who is your friend and who is not. So no reason to hide from friends.

On the contrary sometimes we add people to the Friends listing to keep track of certain people or stay in touch, or even remember someone's name you once raided with. But just because it's labelled "Friends list" doesn't mean that we are friends with everyone on that list. It's just a method of tracking people and keeping track of people. One of the pet peeves I had in "WoW" was that there is no way to toggle your "Online" status to all of those on your list. It's not that I dislike those people or don't trust them, but I don't always have time to help them and there are often days I don't feel like being bothered while I'm playing. So being "anon" makes perfect sense.

I say add an online status "toggle" much like that in IM's, you can hide your online status, etc. Obviously if they see you in the game the gig is up, but hey privacy is something everyone should have complete control of.
