Most people, in an effort to be civil and not sound condescending and jerkish, would probably handle the matter thusly:

Might I suggest that your method is sub-optimal in both friendliness and in efficiency. At the very least, you could have simply let the thread be subsumed into the forum static rather than choosing to respond in so uncouth a fashion.
