Doesn't ESC do that? Or at least it should ..

I support this change too. It's especially annoying when someone is using voicechat as you're about to heal them: 'Help - I'm about to die!!' - then you get no visual indication they are selected at all (except in your focus orb).

In fact I'm considering reorganising my screen layout to put my focus orb near the team listing so I can actually see when I've selected someone (or not)

Same here, but I do believe Esc works too.

I had the same problem. He's what Turbine tech support emailed me:

Please go to the Dungeons and Dragons Online folder located in your My Documents folder. Then open
the Keymap file located in that folder with Notepad to edit it. If you want to store a backup copy
of this file please copy the file now before we edit it. Please scroll down a little more then
halfway down the file and make sure the following section reads as follows, especially the last line:

    TARGET_FELLOW_1_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F1 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_2_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F2 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_3_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F3 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_4_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F4 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_5_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F5 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_6_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F6 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_7_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F7 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_8_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F8 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_9_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F9 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_10_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F10 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_11_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F11 ] ]
    TARGET_FELLOW_12_KEY [ Old [ 0 DIK_F12 ] ]

However, I just tried that and the section of text above was intact. But I did find a bunch of other text refering to F12 (the key I remapped). On my other computer (which I hadn't remapped), there is only this one reference to F12. So I deleted all the other lines containing F12. DDO still loads. We'll see if it fixed the problem when next I raid.

    Best,

I wouldn't mind a toggle of some sort being added, as long as we don't lose the functionality of being able to use the F-keys to not only target a party member, but then cycle to that party member's pet. Now that we're able to buff and heal pets, being able to target them quickly through the use of the F-keys is a very handy thing.

Personally, I don't have problems with the way it works now; tap one key (ESC or F-key again), and your focus orb is cleared.

The idea of being able to re-sort the group list in some way, sounds much more useful than changing the way the F-key selection works.

I would have to agree that the toggle aspect of the "F" keys does seem unnecessary, and can be detrimental (bear in mind that being accustomed to and adapting to an inconvenience is not the same as it not being an inconvenience).

Another related change I would love to see, is when a party member is selected, that player's map dot would become highlighted (it is possible to highlight a dot by clicking on it directly, but this would greatly simplify the matter).

This is actually a viable (and perhaps superior) substitute for the no-toggle change I requested. If the selected player's name in the player list clearly showed who was selected, it would dramatically reduce or eliminate the misselected/unselected target problem I highlighted.

Also, the suggestion of showing the associated F-key for each player (F1, F2, etc) by their name would also reduce strain on at least this cleric's limited mental capacities.

    All the best,
