    Default Character slots

    HI all
May not be the appropriate place. if not please send this question/point to DDO marketing.

I have 1750 toons and still need more slots *. How about letting accounts pay a one time fee (price of software say 19.95) and buy six add'l toon slots.

What do other people think. For those who don't know you now only get one more slot at 1750 per account not per toon reaching 1750.

    Thanks

    * My toons reach high levels and I have then have no low or mid level toons to help others out.

You can pay close to this price and get a whole 'nother account.

Pro and con to that suggestion, if you had 2 comps it is sometimes handy to have a 2nd account but on the other hand you have to pay 2 subs per month.

Well, if the player "needs" more slots, then there's obviously enough time devoted to the game to warrant a second account... and obviously enough time devoted to the game to get a char capped or to 1750 favor in a reasonable amount of time.

I have 2 acc'ts with 8 'toons on each. That's on my 'main' server. Then various 'toons scattered about the other servers. Getting to 1750 really isn't that hard, just stop repeating the same old Stormcleave/Delara's runs over and over. Get a group of lowbies together and run every non-solo quest in the harbor up to Elite. You'll get plenty of exp and a good chunk of favor as well. Then just do the same with the various Houses, Necroplis and Market. Pretty soon you're out in the desert and within spitting distance of 1750...

I just recently hit 1750 favor for my first time last week. It took me about 2 months to go from 700 favor to 1750, and that was playing a significant amount of time and ignoring the wife a bit (which I have to make up for).

My brother, who has been playing about as long as me, is still at around 1200 favor on his main. So, I don't think it is a valid statement to say that getting 1750 favor is easy.

(and neither of us have xp capped characters)

    Default double monthly fee

My budget wont allow the double so thats out.
My thoughts are that a one time fee to buy slots is fair to ddo and allows plays to experiment more with different builds.

My issue is that new players come on. Dont find low toons to play with and lose interest in the game. I have been around since beta and like to have low and mid lvl toons available to help them with. Extra slots simply help with that.

It's not easy if you don't work at it. If all you do is the same old quests everyone else is doing, you'll never get it. What I do is every few nights I set aside just for Favor. Pick a House, do as many quests on Elite as possible and rack up the Favor. I can generally add 150+ favor a night doing that....

Now this thread I like but the paying for it is a lil over board. We should have more slots and I am hopeing in the new Expansion we are getting in Sept. it will increase our slots for the new toons that will be in it...

Devs I hope u read this because that will be a great idea add like about 4 to 5more slots, even tho i would not use them all but for future updates that will have a new toons in it would make me start another toon.

Default More slots is smart marketing!

I have a level 4 fighter, who will always stay level 4, because he collects collectables from many guildies and then mails them out in batches of 99 for people to enjoy trading.

He can open all harbor coin lord quests on elite, so he helps many new characters get coin lord favor.

He takes people on tours of the Cerulean Hills, as he knows the place well, having completed everything there (except one rare encounter!)

I do expect Turbine to give us a slot when they give us half-orcs, like they did when we got Drow.

I do expect Turbine to give us a slot when they open up monks, and maybe even when they open up Druids. I will not drop any current characters to have those, those characters represent too much work to just ... delete.

I don't have access to a second computer, so a second account doesn't make sense (either playwise nor money wise) to me.

However, if Turbine wanted to create a "Premium Account", which cost only $5 a month more or so, which would allow several things, I would be very, very tempted! Here's what would tempt me:

    1. Allow me to "sort" my characters on my login page, so I could have them in the order I wanted.
    2. Put a "you've got mail" icon next to my characters when appropriate on the login page, so I would know whom to log in to check mail.
    3. Give me 50% more slots, rounded up or down, I don't really care.
    4. It would allow me to print out a character sheet, filled in with what items the character is wearing, has in inventory, and has in the bank. Including (maybe on a separate sheet) favor points, quest stats, etc. This would allow me to plan game play while away from the computer or during updates, like today! It would also let me play Pen and Paper if I find a nice DM! (I know plenty!)

    Well?

Default Lcdr Swizzle#4 WORKS FOR ME!

All nice suggestions but in particular, #4 is something that really appeals to me.
Seems foolish, but I have a notebook next to my system where I have to manually log each toons journal! Items, quests, etc.
Stormreach could take a page out of Chris Taylor's Dungeon Siege.
DDO is lightyears more advanced, but fails where dsII succeded, a simple log book to view your progress/goods.
