Default X three archetypes per class ?

can we expect to get at least three archetypes per class eventually? I noticed they love the number 3 in this game . most classes in 5E have 3 Archetypes in the First players manual . I know they all added way more later . So my guess is we will get three per class

I'm pretty sure we're going to get one archetype for every class before we get multiple archetypes for one class; so with only 6 of 15 classes with archetypes so far, it's gonna be a looong while before that happens.

3 is a special number in MMO. Its the holy trinity. 3 selectable trees per class, not only DDO. LoTRO is the same. In fact, many other MMOs are the same.

    3 also means tank/healer/DPS.

In Cantonese 3 actually means going up. 53 means "I go north" or "I go up", or "I became rich". Either one of those.

Of course, 42 is a multiple of 3.

If the utility (and "fun-ness") of the current archetypes is any indication, I'd say one archetype per class is all that can reasonably be expected.

I could certainly be wrong, though.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

I think the only thing we can expect is that we cant expect anything

They made it clear with the first batch of archetypes that there werent necessarily any rules, and they were only going to add new ones because they thought they were cool.

So we might end up with 18 different Paladin archetypes and no Artificer ones

At least a year out until we have 1 archetype for each class. I wouldn't be worried about 2 or 3 quite yet, they'll probably squeeze in another major expansion at that point adding another race or class.

I hope they don't release more than 1 per class or something close to that. No, I don't want 100 different enhancement trees, thank you. There's SO much content, and SO many ways to experience it already. Find other ways to monetize and start fixing things. Thank you.

Its worth noting that our goal here is NOT to make sure each class has a Archetype to start - we will be instead aiming for Archetypees that we think will be fun to build and to play with. Its possible - likely, even - that a class will end up with 2 or even 3 Archetypes before a different class gets its first.

Can we expect to have a new completion feat when each class has one archetype?

Archetypes will be for f2p classes only, it would be weird if you bought archetype (oh yes, archetypes will cost) of a class you don't own.

so far you get the benefit of additional Past Life feats, but they just count towards the base class in regards to heroic completionist.

All classes are free to play, 3 do require a DDO point grind ( 2 of those 3 can also be accessed through a favor grind instead.)

From SSG's standpoint, getting access to an archetype when you don't have access to the main class would simply be more motivation for the player to either spend more time playing to grind out the class, or to spend money to purchase the class.

    I don't see the weird.

I think you don't understand what free to play (F2) means . Grinding DDO points to purchase it does not equal F2P.

Actually, it does. It is the bargain that we free-loader pay to play. That is the way that I have got most all packs, excluding of course the expansions and many of the goodies on my account. In return, I have had access to the game. I did not have to pay $35, which was the typical entry fee for games when I started in DDO 13+ years ago.

Youre free to think that of course, but you'd be mistaken.

If I know SSG we will probably get an archetype for most classes before they are abandoned for a new system.

indeed if points are earned from favor & not purchased with money then it is F2P
