    Default Game sounds cutting out

Whenever there are a lot of sounds, usually in a quest when a lot is happening, sounds get cut out early. All sorts of little sound effects. Some sounds fail to play entirely. I don't know when this started, I think some time after Isle of Dread was released. I can't take it anymore. Anyone else have this issue? Any way to resolve it?

    Default pops and cuts

I'm getting pops and clipping as well. It seems like the higher frequencies are hitting a little too hard/loud. Somethings up with the sound mixing. Maybe too many sounds at once or a too aggressive/sharp tune.

Is there any fix? I'm still experiencing this. I've tried repairing, and I've tried using a different audio device. Unplugged from my sound card to my onboard audio and still many sounds fail to play. Doesn't seem to be a widespread issue so I have no idea where the problem is coming from.

I installed a new set of headphones a couple of weeks ago. Wireless headphones with their own built in sound drivers.

As usual I ran the AV security routine after the install to make sure that the drivers were up-to-date and not flagged as insecure. During the check I got a notification that I needed to install the latest Win11 update for October including the security and driver updates so I did this.

I log into DDO and the sound is patchy and it is cutting in and out and I immediately come to the conclusion that the new headphone drivers are the problem. So I uninstall them and reinstall and same problem.

Then I get a notion and I go and roll back the October Win11 update and the problem is gone.

I'm not suggesting that you rollback the latest Win11 patch but that's what worked for me in similar circumstances.

I'm on Windows 10. Maybe that specific Win 11 patch has better compatibility for whatever reason. No clue.
