Unhappy Account pending cancellation and the "Awesome" help I received on this issue

Looking through my accounts page the other day, I noticed that my account, 1 of 4 that I have, is pending cancellation.

I thought that strange, since I did not cancel the account and have been subscribing since February of 2006.

The other three accounts renewed recently without issue, so I know the CC is good and my account is good until April 2023.

So, I went down the path of contacting customer service and asking why my account was put in pending cancellation status.

Was it something I said? Was is something I did? Am I too old to play any more?

After a few days, here is the non-answer I got:

"Thank you for your inquiry. "Pending Cancellation" means that your subscription will not be renewed once it expires. I hope this clears things up and if you have any additional questions or concerns, please let me know!"

    Duh

SSG, please actually READ the request and then respond. And BTW - This is still not fixed.

    /rant off.
Keep it fun out there . . .

Send a PM to Cordovan and give him the ticket # and ask him WHY the subscription won't be renewed. If you create a new ticket, give him that ticket # too.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

I should try that at some point. I bought a BtCoE item with a high minimum level (above 20) from the shard auction house, and when I detached it the item bound itself to my low-level bank alt. So it cost me 30+ shards and is bound to a mule.

The ticket response was "only equip items on characters that should use them" or something similarly useless.

You can always "cleanse" and transfer a bound BTCOE item by posting it for min value on the ASAH and then immediately buying it on another character. It'll cost you some shards but it's still better than having a bricked item

Maybe it could be a setting on the account that is switched off by accident?

The game support in DDO is non-existent. They do actually exist but they are not affiliated with SSG, and all they are concerned about is to keep the active tickets number low, so that they have good statistics on closed tickets. As far as any helpfulness goes, it is close to or even below 0. If there was some game support rating system, I'm sure the numbers would reflect this statement.

But if the item in question already became BTC, you cannot repeat the same process?

It is also the only way in game to trade already-equipped Bound-to-Character-on-Equip items. These items immediately bind to their new owner.

    • Posting fees for unbound items is one Shard, and posting fees for BtCoE items is five Shards. These fees are refunded if the auction is cancelled or expires.
    • The default bid for unbound items is three Shards. The default bid for BtCoE items is fifteen Shards.
    • The Shard Exchange will take a 30% cut (on top of the posting fee) when unbound items are successfully sold, and a 40% cut (on top of the posting fee) for bound items.

I don't currently have a VIP subscription, but I believe if you click your name on the upper right of the DDO store screen you will get a manage subscriptions and my payment accounts option. Between those two you should be able to get your subscription renewed.
