Default PDK and Cormyrean Knight Training Question

    Hi,

Doing 3 PDK lives and playing a Paladin THF. I have both Blackrazor and Tremor. So is it better to go max Charisma and make use of Cormyrean Knight Training and have the tactical feat dcs or go max Strength and focus on the Maul Sylvanus option?

Cormyrean Knight Training: You now use Charisma or Strength, whichever is higher, for attack and damage with short swords, long swords, bastard swords, and great swords.
In addition, as long as your Charisma remains higher than your Strength and you are wielding one of the above weapons, you receive a bonus to the DCs of your Tactical Feats equal to 1/3 your Charisma modifier.

It depends on two things: math and priorities. Are you using a +1 heart or taking the fighter level(s)?

If your goal is more than max-deeps / max-tactics functionality, go full Cha, as it makes you a one-stat wonder. Better LOH and saves are the most obvious ones, but I don't play a lot of paladins so there are probably more I'm not thinking of.

If you're maximizing damage/tactics, I think it depends on what gear you got and how high you can make your stats. Str builds a little more easily than other stats, but even if you go max-Str you won't want to dump Cha because of Divine Might. If you can give a ballpark number of Str/Cha and any other shiny leveling weapons (eSOS, Drow Maul, etc), that'll help a bit

I have both ESOS and Drow Maul. Racials, double completionist, 30+ past lives. We only really run high reaper at endgame, so not really worried about leveling. I have the end game gear, part of the family, 5 piece fey summer and winter set. I can pretty much max out either stat.

I'd say go the CHA route since it powers a lot of paladin abilities & holy retribution for that instakill is very tasty - it'll also allow for a lot more versatility, eg. add illusionist into the mix for colour spray, have soundburst twisted then go into fatesinger for bound/grim fate, martial hymn, turn the tide, a couple of extra buffs & greater shout & you've got some really solid debuffs & crowd control too.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.
