Doing Devil Assault - end mob hit me with a poison which of course I rolled a 1 for the save as usual...hit me for 640 constitution damage?? 640???
Left my con on -600?!
This is on EN??

You sure it's a Mob and not the End Boss themselves? Pit Fiend Poison tends to do stuff like that from memory.

Yeah pit fiend end boss which I've done tons of times and never seen this once. How is that even remotely fair or balanced? EE or Reaper I can understand but this is EN - supposedly the difficulty for casual and solo players. A poison that's impossible to survive if you fail a save just seems peevishly cynical to me.
In that case, the only other thing I can add, is that all Pit Fiend Disease and Poison effects are on a timer (60s I believe), so you have time to remove them with pots. If you've never failed a roll against them before, you were very lucky. Even back in the old days of the Shroud, Mass Heals were required to be cycled in between other Mass Cures to help remove those Disease/Poison effects on the party on Normal because it could kill the player when they failed their save, and most did. So it's not really new, just you've been very lucky with rolls previously it appears.

I cant believe I have never once failed a save considering I've done this battle upwards of 100 times before easily.
The sheer amount of times you roll 1 on a save (which seems to be around 25% of the time *grumble*) it doesn't seem possible. Anyone else had this happen specifically in Devil Assault (not shroud or other pit fiend fights)
Done a ton of DA on EN over the years for tokens.
Neither seen nor heard of this happening.
Wish I could figure out how to post pics here...could show the screenshot.
being 1 - shoted is a new feature to make things more fun
making the game more fun for 5% of the players
enjoy
pit fiend venom, baby. no joke
it should have been 1000 con, looks like the damage was scaled down on normal
Pit Fiend poison has a secondary effect of death. So yes, that's what happens when you fail a save. But only the second save. The primary effect of pit fiend venom is something else, I've never noticed what.
This is not a devil assault feature, this is a pit fiend feature and is done by all of them everywhere regardless of location or quest difficulty.

Kobold sentient jewel still hate you.
Kobold sentient jewel still hate you.
Thats crazy....I honestly cannot believe I have never once failed that second save until now....guess I need to buy pots :\
Still its a bit of a stupid mechanic - why not just say "you died" instead of a comedy stat drain...? I guess its done like this to ensure death on a failed save no matter what protections you have such as death ward/deathblock. Bit of a cynical design IMO.
I'm fairly certain medusas can produce a similar effect as well.
Can you please put a rest shrine at the end of Offshore Account?
Since the patch when I fight the otyugh I go from 53 STR/CON to 0 in about 2 secs if I fail a save - not enough time to even drink a potion, I suppose that it is another melee tax - from that point I am helpless. Luckily I adventure with a mage friend and she can make short work of the otyugh with out having to get into range. We then sit in the end room for several minutes until I have regained enough strength to take a potion to build up my wisdom - I can't even loot the chest until I have built up enough strength.
A rest shrine in the end room is not game breaking!
I am running a lvl30 drood (supposedly immune to poison) in Offshore Account on EH. Having 0 in all attributes, without having any time to react, makes it difficult to do anything. At least if I had died I could have used Jibbers.

I guess this is devs implementing this (from 3.5 edition monster manual)
"Poison (Ex): Injury, Fortitude DC 27, initial damage 1d6 Con, secondary damage death. The save DC is Constitution-based."
So, yeah my bad I guess. Next time I#'m loading up on pots.
I still think its crazy I've not failed that save till now....
