Default LGS for ranged CC advice

I've got a shuriken thrower who'd like to round out his CC capabilities. Already has DPS / Vulnerability / Affirmation swaps, so this is really just about CC. Usually plays in the 3-6 skull range. I'm trying to choose between either LGS Ice or Salt. Here's what I've gathered on them:

    LGS Ice:
    - proc chance < 100% (wiki claims 10-20%), but with throwing high RoF should proc "a lot"
    - affect is AoE, but no idea on the radius
    - affect does have a save ... maybe fort 90?
    - no internal cooldown
    - doesn't cause helplessness
    - grants dr 100/adamantine to victim
    - no data on duration

    LGS Salt:
    - proc chance 100%
    - effectively single target due to internal 250ms cooldown
    - no save
    - reduces movement + atk speed significantly
    - doesn't cause helplessness
    - duration might be around 11 seconds?

I'm leaning towards salt. The ice AoE is tempting, but the save worries me that it won't continue to scale very well into higher reapers. Ice also somewhat pushes for adamantine dr breaking, which isn't a problem for the user (just take the pierce feat), but can inconvenience the party.

Do both of these effect the same kinds of targets, or, for example, does only one of them land on reapers / incorps / etc.?

I'd love to hear people's thoughts or advice.

I'm an advocate of Salt. The DR Ice adds can be a headache if a party member doesn't have an appropriate weapon, and it just gets worse as you increase skulls. It's still annoying if you constantly have to swap weapons because your main weapon doesn't break Adamantine DR. Not to mention your LGS Ice weapon won't be doing Adamantine damage either (unless you always use scrolls and put your LGS in your offhand while you scroll in the main hand)... Plus Salt is more reliable. Yes you'll eventually get your target with Ice due to RoF, but salt will get everything immediately.

    Some people like Ice though.

For a change of pace, try legendary ooze. It is totally entertaining.
The blinking Drooam "backpack" is NOT a party buff. But its fun to say it is.

Hah, I was going to say that. The oozes don't do much in the way of damage, but they're tops at getting in the way. Mobs that can't path to you can't hit you.

I use a salt repeater and it really seems to help the party out regarding managing mobs on reapers. I saw an ooze repeater in action the other day, impressive. It looked like they were actually pulling the agro but after reading your post maybe there just were so many the mobs had no where to go and just flailed around.
