    Default Graphic sliders not working

Hi, Ive been playing DDO on my Mac for 5 years now with no problems but the last month or so the game has become unplayable. The dungeons have suddenly become so dark I cant see, only yesterday I ran the first part of STK and couldnt see 4 feet in front of me. I went in to the graphics settings and whilst the sliders for brightness/ contrast and Gamma all appear to move they have no effect on the brightness on screen, any help or ideas please?

The gamma setting has never worked. That would be really nice to have.

Having said that, it is possible that you hit a variation of the Opaque walls bug. Right before walls start going opaque, visible areas of the dungeon will go noticeably darker; almost, but not quite, black. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, I use that as a signal to go ahead and restart the client, because the bug is about to strike. It is pure negligence that they have never addressed this.

The only other possibility I can think of is that the brightness on your machine got turned down. To compensate for the lack of a gamma control, I run the game with the display brightness turned all the way up.

You don't have to do a complete restart in most cases, a relog works too.
"Sorry Elminster, it was really dark, and I'd drank a LOT of coffee..."

On the lower graphic settings the brightness slider does not work. Try increasing your resolution then brightness settings. When I first tried ddo with an older computer and older monitor than I have now the grotto was so dark it was impassable. At the time I had no choice but to quit because it was so dark.
(Combat): You were killed by something.
