Litany of the Dead flagging

The Wiki just says you flag for this by doing the 4 Necro 4 quests.

But what if I want to run it twice? Do I need to re-flag?

For Ascension Chamber, the Wiki specifies:
"Flagging
Complete the Litany of the Dead story arc.
Reflagging is never required for this raid."

You need to run all 4 necro 4 quests AND (most difficult part) have a completed sigil - many people loath the sigil factor of the flagging mechanism.
Once you flag you remain flagged (for this life), you do not need to reflag (or get a new sigil).
Once you TR, you will need to reflag and get another completed sigil.

Epic Necro 4 is a different set of quest givers and you must run the same 4 quests on epic (after talking to the epic quest givers) - no sigil is required for epic (although there is no epic ascension chamber- just the Mark of Death raid).

or rather my above post is for getting into Litany of the Dead.
But once flagged to get into litany, you remain flagged.
To get into Ascension chamber, you need to run litany at least 4 (usually 5) times.
You must complete the main quest and then all four optionals once.
Only one optional can be completed each run- so it takes 4 runs to get the optionals and flag for Ascension chamber.
Usually people run Litany once on elite (for nice exp and favor), without running the optionals.
Then run it 4 times (once for each optional) on lower difficulty settings (for first time bonuses) and easier/faster runs.
After completing all optionals, you're flagged for Ascension Chamber (Abbott Raid) - no more flagging that life.

In my experience, running Litany and one of the optionals on elite is normal (and not too difficult, as long as you aren't doing the beholder). Please be aware that Litany has a mandatory exam. Failing the exam is a life changing event. Be prepared. (The exam is not graded on a curve, guessing is punished.)
