So apparently the different types of MR don't stack.

Why does insightful MR exist? It definitely doesn't stack. Am I missing something?

Well, insightful and normal MRR stacked for me. Are you sure you're not hitting the MRR cap (wearing robes or light armor)?

Are you sure he isn't talking about Magic Resistance, the ability to resist Hold Person (for example)?

Hmm, Spell Resistance? Could be. In that case, though, last time I equipped (admittedly some months back) my SR + ins SR belt, those stacked as well.

I know there was some problems on initial release of SR on Random loot. Honestly I don't know if it was ever addressed. Insightful was "typed" as Enhancement in the coding and was voiced on the forums.

fwiw, my toon is drow so I'm talking about insightful stacking with racial. If it's coded as enhancement then it shouldn't stack. But insightful should theoretically stack, correct?

Ah, OK, misunderstood you then. Yes, the racial SR seems buggy and doesn't stack, for some reason. Does it even stack with normal SR?

Interestingly enough, the racial SR does stack with the Occult Slayer barb SR.

Drow SR does not stack with any gear that I've found, including insightful. My drow pew pew warlock was very unimpressed.

IIRC Racial SR isn't bugged, it's just not supposed to stack with other sources of SR.

It all stacks equipment/insight/quality/epic destiny. The only oddball there is racial one - seems to be coded some strange way. Dont have first hand info on class (barbarian) MR, if anyone have info on it. Its great way to mitigate a lot of spells including doomspheres.
