Default VoN6 pillars immune to Eldritch Blast?

Yesterday, my regular group did heroic Plane of Night, with our new Warlocks (and a couple of others).

The pillars took no damage from Eldritch Blast, no force, no piercing, no evil, no acid, no sonic. Are they supposed to be immune?

Eventually we discovered that Evard's Black Tentacles worked, so we destroyed the pillars that way.

Was this a bug or WAI?

    I'd say definitely a bug.

Some quests don't interact very well with blasts (e.g. root walls in Tomb of the Blighted); a few even break, for instance House of Broken Chains.
On Thelanis: Hallelujah (EK wraith) - Jerryrigged Juggernaut (Fiend Warlock) - Sepulchral (Druid) - Chopchopchop (Monk) - Alleyshadow (retired gimped monkcher). Formerly on Keeper : Misericordia (Thug) - Mumbo Jumbo (Battle Caster) - Infernal Can (WF Kinda Cleric) - Halleluyah (Melee Spellsinger).

I believe it was Varg or Steel who said they were going to make Chain Shape EBs be able to break breakables. They said they would look into it also being able to break other breakable things like breakable doors.

    I'm guessing they didn't.

It does break breakable doors, usually. Though funny enough some breakable doors open when shot. Some sarcophagi and every root wall (that i shot) seem to be immune.

The pillars in von6 are different though, they have hp bars. I don't know if they count as breakables or mobs, or neither.

Von pillars are by design immune to magic of all types except for untyped, and to pierce damage. So they are not immune to eldritch blast, but to all available damage types. This was done to prevent ranged characters from soloing von6. Tentacles work because of bludgeon component, other than that warlocks will have to melee; ruin also works but that's above bravery bonus so probably not ideal solution.

All of my characters carry melee and ranged weapons. (the best they can get, which often includes things like Smiters)

(Pssst... I heard Warlocks are overpowered.)

This. Wizards usually use disintegrate. Archers use either morphic arrows or blunted ammunition. Melees carry a big stick because pillars also have DR.

    Pillars:
    Alignment: True Neutral
HP: About 1500, does not vary with difficulty.
Special Qualities: DR3-10/-, DR1000/Slashing or Bludgeoning, Immunity to all elemental damage, rust and sonic. Alignment, Light, Force and Negative Energy damage works normally.

Force damage is supposed to work on the pillars, but for some reason eldritch blast is not damaging them at all.
....unless the Devs secretly ninja changed it and did not include that tidbit of information on the release notes.... Force damage is supposed to work...
Ruin?.. hows that going to work in heroic at level Von6.... don't think so...
