    Default Update 24: Hall of Heroes

    Hey, everyone!

    As you may have seen in this weekend's release notes, for Update 24 we've made some changes to the two Hall of Heroes spaces:



    • There is now an entrance to the Eberron Marketplace to the right of the entrance where players enter the Eberron Hall of Heroes from the Character Select screen. The entrance from The Marketplace now leads to this location as well.
    • A new Stormreach Teleporter has been created in a new room across from the location where players enter the Eberron Hall of Heroes from the Character Select screen.
    • There is now an Airship Access point next to the new Stormreach Teleporter in the Eberron Hall of Heroes.
    • There is now an exit to Eveningstar to the right of the entrance where characters enter the Forgotten Realms Hall of Heroes from the Character Select screen. The entrance from Eveningstar now leads to this location in the Forgotten Realms Hall of Heroes.
    • Exits to Eveningstar from the Hall of Heroes now give players the option to be sent to Eveningstar, the Eveningstar Cavern, Wheloon, or the Thunder Peaks.
    • There are now Bankers, Auctioneers, and General Vendors on the upper floor of both the Eberron and Forgotten Realms Hall of Heroes.
    • A Fatespinner has been added to both the Eberron and Forgotten Realms Hall of Heroes.
    (In addition, Airship Captains will now take you to the Eberron Hall of Heroes as well).

    Why the change?
    We'd received some feedback that the Hall was not viewed as generally useful; not enough resources (vendors, etc), and what was there was... well, really far apart. This change adds some new NPCs, changes the location of a few things and should make travelling around a little bit easier.

    Why are there two copies of certain things now?
    Some people may like where the old NPC locations are, and (at least for U24) we don't have immediate plans to use that corner of the Hall.

    It would be cool if the Hall had (Insert Cool Thing Here)!
    Additional changes may not happen for U24, but if you have thoughts about things to add or ways to make this space better, or just want to tell us you like/don't like the new changes - please let us know!

    thx! I would create a statue for uber triple completionist/epic completionist toons. Let them choose final form, race, outfit, pose etc and a special buff of their choice (like an airship amenity) with short plaque featuring an inspirational statement the player can write.
    To have the statue, the toon becomes RETIRED and can no longer be played--enters into the realm of legend.
    This is the endgame--not raids and gear etc.
    Edit: This is optional--not forced on player!

    As long as it requires a log out and back in to switch between the two I just don't see myself going there except to reincarnate.

    Maybe if I was not in a guild it would be an ok base of operations to start from.

    Good to see u guys making some use out of that useless place...

    I was one of the (insert a regreat self punishing word here) who bought the halls with the expectation of having a easy connection between the worlds .. and what i got was a button on the char selection and that was it for a XXX amount of TP


    now lets go to the (insert your expected thing here.. [no, not even cool.. just minimum] )
    a easy connection between worlds.. a bridge just like the rift... w/o having to log out.. (yeah log out and back just for that is dumb)


    now the (cool thing)

    if u paid for the hall u will receive a feat, key or whatever to transport u to a choosen hall world every 10 or less mins..

    It would be cool

    1) If a player could travel directly from Eberron to Forgoten Realms & visa virsa.

    That was the Halls origin intent, selling point, then it was taken away. we want it back.

    2) if the Hall of heroes wasn't so convoluted with doors to eberron and the reincarnation trainer miles apart on the rediculously empy space. Why is there a Gaint pool in there to jump in the have a ladder to get out ( we all know how well ladders work) the top and bottom floors for no real reason as well.

    Keep it simple straightforward and less like running through the Stormhorns to get to a quest please.

    I still feel cheated out of the Turbine points I spent on this useless garbage. No matter what vendors you add, I won't stop feeling cheated until I either get a refund, or you actually implement what you promised the Hall of Heroes was supposed to have: fast transport between Eberron & Forgotten Realms.

    Having to log out and log back in cannot, ever, in any imaginable universe, count as "fast transport". That's just deceitful marketing.

    Running from my guild ship to the Harbor, to the Spinners Prison, to the Eveningstar Cavern, to Eveningstar, is faster. And doesn't introduce noticeable memory leakage.

    Save yourself some work: scrap having 2 separate Halls. Have just one Hall, that exits to both Eberron and Forgotten Realms. Done.

    Thank you for the opportunity to provide a suggestion. My suggestion is to make it a real Hall of Heroes. Place the Founder stuff from the Harbor in there and make the statues list the names of 3x completionists (just the toons name) or toons that reached some notable achievement.

    EDIT ~ just throwing out an idea for some "notable acheivement", list name on statue for 20 CiTW or 100th Shroud? Or perhaps the names of someone who pulled all the CiTW weapons? Or perhaps fastest completion time for Haunted Halls exteneded (I'm at 20 minutes with all named chests looted).

    You could add a copy of the Gygax and Arneson memorials. Clicking on the memorial would offer to transport you to the regular one out in the world.

    I agree with this, I never understood the whole 2 Halls thing. Even for what they did requiring a logout to change worlds, just have 2 portals and make one inactive depending on where you were coming from.

    Would have been cool if this was a place found in the Demonweb with an occassional random monster passing through - but through some Swiss like peace keeping, no fighting allowed.

    I like this idea. Or, the memorials should grant a one of kind buff (like Nat Gann), See Invisibility for an hour or some such.


    What else?

    1) How about a permanent Jester?

    2) How about a vendor who allows the exchange of any collectable in the game?

    3) Per my suggestion on the PC for guild ships, how about a library with a map you can view of any explorer area? Or the old monster stories which should be part of the MM but aren't.

    4) I haven't looked in a while, but there should be a vendor selling every pot, scroll and spell component in the game without haven't to go all over. Granted, some guilds have this, many don't.

    Overall, if you want the space used and to assuage bitter feelings for those who purchased it, the space needs more value to involve spending time there. Personally, especially for small guilds or the unguilded, I would love it if HoH provided some guild type buffs. Again - it is about giving value to a TP purchase.

    P.S. - Not level 200 buffs, but, say 3 permanent buffs (always gonna get) and 3 random buffs (entice people to see what else is available).

    This would be a huge boon to us folk that farm The Master's Gift for their toons and need to hit Delara's and Thernal often.

    1. Transport without logging in/out to go to Eberron/FR.

    2. Statues of notable PnP heroes, authors, designers, etc with plaques that tell the story. Maybe they come to life or move around. Think Harry Potter and pictures on the walls.

    3. Move Founders Wall into the hall and spruce it up nice.

    4. Map of Eberron and FR.

    With all due respect, Uska, imo, the Hall of Heroes was never meant to be, and is not, an immersive element to the game. It was a convenience option which has evolved into offering little convenience.

    If you are in an RPG or permadeath group and want to exclude HoH from use, there is always that option. Again, you don't have to use it.
