Default Drop rates in an old game

Another thread about low drop rates of named items in the newest raids!

No, I don't want a 100% drop rate. I don't want the quest giver to spawn the items in my inventory when I get the quest.

I wasn't averse to farming raids when the game was new to me. I started playing when DDO went free to play. I ran ToD 60+ times on multiple toons to get the correct ring. I ran DQ 80+ times to get marilith chain and torque. I ran Von raid 200+ to get eSos. I've run shroud 300+ times because I liked it.

I just can't bring myself to do it anymore. I've run shadow dragon raid a ton and have never had a named item drop. I opted for the phlogs on my 20th and 40th as I am twf and they hardly drop for me in the chest. I haven't ran MoD a ton yet as I get to bored to run it over and over in one setting, but in 18 runs nada. I find it boring and think I will probably stop at 20 even though I would like multiple items. Opening a raid chest should be exciting, but now it is just depressing.

If Turbine wants people to run 20 raids before getting one named item so be it, but at least up the drop rates for other rare items - tomes, augments, etc.

I have a feeling you're going to get the same answer that all of those other threads with identical issue to this one got.

    (hint: foray chronometer sidestep)
Sarlona: Aramzim, Attickus, Behren, Daaghda, Darksyde, Fyggaro, Oldero
Argonessen: Egyll, Ghrae, Mitrel, Physz, Sanjurow, Schaeleen
Thelanis: Aarlyss, Eagynn | Ghallanda: Glooming | Khyber: Ghrae

I agree with you. With the raid timer bypasses, it's pretty hard to come to any other conclusion than that someone wants us to use them.

how does difficulty affect the drop rates. high level raids are usually pugged on EN. While the other raids are ran on higher difficulties, where the drop rates are better afaik.

Maybe pug should focus to run higher difficulties. When lvl30 hits cap and destiny/enhancement upgrade(?) comes, those raids will again be easy on higher difficulties and hence, the farming will be easier.

But you are right, I do the shadowdragon grind too. 50% dropchance on EN, then you have to run raid approx. 60 times, not considering phlogs in endreward list. If I consider you need to run 40 times (20 phlogs +10 from list), which is still too high, especially if you want to craft mulitple items

The fix for old raids: want loot? run it at level and not above.

New raids are trickier, i think the % of loot should be upped a bit too. Maybe add a selection of other stuff, like if you roll on static reward you can get either an item from the raid or some umd/fate/ability tome/mirror/exp tome/loot boost...etc. This way it is still "oh ok i got something vs "oh comon +1 to 20th."
