Just when I was genuinely excited about the future of this game, the rug was swept out from under that pink cloud.
MajorMal is now the live producer at LotRO.
Seriously, as the world (Khorvaire) turns, so do the dayz of our lives.

I think that leaves 2...Glin (senior producer) and Vyvyanne (exec).
As they wind down AC, I'm assuming people from that game will be moving around. They may not know yet. Things will probably be in flux for awhile.

Well, I'm sure he had little choice. Told to move: moved. But yeah, a word or two about what's going on would have been nice. Oh, well. If he's going to be that disloyal and fickle, fine.

As far as feeling of doom, AC is still out there. You can roll up a character today if you want. They still do updates and have events. I imagine DDO will be the same. When it does go the way of AC and Ghalladriel, I imagine that then is when you'll see the server consolidation people keep asking for. I doubt that Turbine feels it's cost effective to do any consolidation prior to dropping down to one server. I seriously doubt it costs anything more to keep 8 servers running as opposed to one. Just a tiny bit of electricity really, unless you find another use for the server(s) and then establish an opportunity cost.
Ah MajMal, Glin, Rowan, Fernando, etc. we hardly knew ye...
p.s. If we get a vote for next producer, my vote is for Memnir.

Aye, I believe Glin is still in charge. I guess no one truly knows the hierarchy, so my guess is the same as anyone's, but I was never under the impression that Mal was in a position to direct the future of the game. More like a VP nuts and bolts guy or something. The hyperbole that he would lead us into the future is a bit over the top.
Define dead?
It's still there. You can still play it. They had a spring update. Diminished yes, dead to me implies completely unavailable.
Glin? Who knows?
He may well still be in charge of DDO. I certainly have no idea. Turbine never posts when specific people leave, just when new ones come on-board. I just know that I haven't seen anything from him in a bit and I always keep in mind that when someone no longer works for Turbine, they cease to exist. Turbine will never mention them again.
i will miss the weekly messages with mal. im hoping someone else will keep us informed. we really liked you guys were talking to us.

It was fun over the past 3+ years, I'm still reading so BEHAVE!
See you in the Realms! - Maj.
But but but everything is fine with DDO? Right?
