Default Mac client brightness known issue

I know that the Mac Client is probably not being fully supported in DDO, but still, it is what I've been using to play and in general it works quite well. However there is one issue that really bugs me, and it is even in the Known Issues List:

Players using the Mac client are not able to adjust their Brightness, Contrast and Gamma levels.
Obviously, in a game called "Dungeons and Dragons" many many many of the quests are in very dark places -- dungeons and caves. Playing on the Mac client makes it very difficult to navigate some of these dark spaces or even know where to go. Some might call this "immersion" but often it is just kinda frustrating. So my question is whether there is likely to be any fix for this coming anytime soon, or is the Mac client basically "done" and unlikely to be updated further?

They seem to roll in fixes periodically with patches and updates. They seem to have been focusing more on the "CAN ONLY SEE WALL OF COLOR" bug, which has slowly, steadily gotten better. I'm fine with that, the brightness thing is annoying, the other one makes playing hard, if not impossible at times.

I haven't seen any change to the wall of color bug. I get it at least once an hour. I do not believe it has changed at all since beta.

My experience is therefore clearly different than yours. I get it less and less with every update. Dunno what else to say.

Same here, except that it takes around 2 hours for me.

I have found you can improve the gamma a little bit by adjusting the over all gamma, with more recent versions of OS X, the gamma default is 2.2, but it used to be less. I find it gives a brighter appearence (and slightly more playable) if you turn the gamma down. (just do a calibrate and only change the gamma portion)
