Upgrade armor with blue augment

I am trying to upgrade my dualists leather armor with a blue augment of false life 30. but it wont take it. In fact it wont take any augments at all. Have tried many. Any help here would be appreciated.

you might also need to upgrade the augment slot if you made this a long time ago

This is likely to be the problem. Place it in the Altar of Epic Rituals with a stack of Siberys Dragonshards (the yellow ones) and it should "restore" the item.
