Good golly, you guys are just abusing the heck out of the word "scheduled" lately.

At least the dreaded word 'scheduled' is not mentioned in the post itself.

Announcing something for in an hour is scraping the edge of unscheduledness.

Good old 'Scheduled' - "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

This hotfix will address two issues:
    • An issue with the quest Beyond the Rift that is preventing quest completion.
    • The re-distribution of the Raider's Reward Box to all characters.

Thanks! Sorry for the relatively short notice.

It's "scheduled" if we purposefully brought the servers down, as opposed to "the servers have unexpectedly fallen on their faces and we're trying to snap them out of it".

Nah, just say you "schedule" random crashes to keep the server admins on their toes, kinda like a random fire drill that empties a school or business in the middle of everything.
My take on "the grind": https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post6220972

Ordinary humans have inhibitions that serve as a buffer against what we know is bad behavior.
However, some people, by blaming others for their own bad behavior, develop a thought pattern that allows them to override self-control in order to achieve a selfish end.
    - My opinion on exploiters and cheaters blaming SSG for unfair punishment.

That's what it means to *you*. It's not what it means to *us*.

I work in Enterprise IT, I do know what you mean. But it might be worth phrasing it differently for the public audience, you've probably got internal comms to be all technical on, right?

Ooh! Ooh! Or put it in inverted commas and make an official running gag out of it. That's a much better idea.

Er... *embarrassed pause* I'll go away and stop teaching you to suck eggs now.

    Thank you Jerry.

Can you withhold Raiders boxes from the accounts complaining already about the downtime?

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

Sure would be nice if they fixed the Lolth animation at that point in the quest also. Where at the end of the sequence her half-body rises like 50 feet in the air. It's been that way since like the second patch after MotU.

Bugs the heck out of me.

I understand the way you're using the word and it's completely valid, but most people aren't going to interpret it that way. To most "scheduled" downtime means downtime which is planned ahead of time. Thus it has been "scheduled" in advance. It would be better just to leave that word out as it implies to many players that the downtime has been planned well in advance and Turbine either failed to properly inform its players or chose not to inform its players.

It was planned in advance, a developer even mentioned in a previous post that they were going to have a fix for it 'soon'.
