Question Best place for Envenomed Blade pieces?

My rogue is about to hit 20, and I would like to get her an Epic Envenomed Blade. What is the best way to farm for the Seal/Shard - LoD (w/ altar chest), 1st chest of Servants, Spinner? And does EN/EH affect drop levels at all?

    Thanks!

It's my understanding that Shards and/or seals don't drop on Ehard or Eelite...so your gonna be stuck farming Enormal.

That was my experience - EN only for shards/seals. Given that you're going to be ransacking these chests repeatedly, your best bet is to just ransack the entire chain of 3 quests on every character you have until you get the drops.

Roger that. However, can the seal/shard for that item drop in ANY chest in the chain? Including optionals (i.e. does it make sense to do any optionals) ?

I used to do a lot of Web chain farming - 6 ransacks per week. The above posters are mistaken.

Shards drop on any difficulty in LoD/SotO. Seals only drop on EN in LoD/SotO.

Seals drop in any chest where a named item drops on heroic - if you're getting a named item in a chest you know the chest is using the heroic table and won't get seals from it on the difficulty you're running.

Both seals and shards drop on any difficulty in Spinner.

EH is about double/+2% the rate of EN, EE is about +50%/+2% the rate of EH.

Here's Shade's thread, mostly right but some info is outdated: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...ocations-guide

Personally, I would give up on getting any specific Web chain item anytime soon - epic Web items are by far the most frustrating non-raid epic items to acquire. Your rogue will hit 25 long before you farm up an epic Envenomed.

Nice - thank you! So plan is to run LoD EN (all optionals) for seals, and Servants EH (barrier opt only) for shards.

You can also run Spinner, of course.

The locked chest at the start of Servants is a quick EN seal farm.

Feather promised to remove the epic token from the barrier chest because he's like that. If he did, he might've also removed the shards. I haven't checked since U17, I don't think.

You're going to get a reality check pretty quick though on how low the droprate is.

I can confirm that as of the latest update/patch/downtime whatever, the barrier chest still drops tokens/fragments. It may get fixed at some point, or Feather may have realized after looking at it that it's coded as an "end chest" for a reason and left it alone. We never really heard about it again after he said that was a bug and he'd fix it.

Weil, yes, I could, but I despise that quest.

I've actually farmed that one repeatedly - it has a high enough DC that it's a pain to knock, and I have no epic rogue/arti at the moment. Plus, I think the drop rate there is even lower than the other chests.

That, unfortunately, I am well aware of - I have run those quests dozens of times and have only a Epic Templar's Bulwark and a Epic Silver Flame Bow to show for it.

Any epic rogue hire can open it without difficulty.

Is this comment still accurate? I ran LoD on epic normal and got the envenomed blade in the end chest - that would suggest seals only drop in spinner?

    Update 18 changed the drops a bit. The release notes say;

Seals can be found in the Epic Chests at the end of all the quests.
Shards in this quest chain are now found in the Epic Chest at the end of the capstone quest The Spinner of Shadows.

They have supposedly fixed this chain so the harder difficulties have increased drop rates but I cannot confirm if this has indeed been fixed.

I have been doing this a bit since its soloable and i would like to dual wield them shortswords on my monk.
Seal only drop out of end chests and do so from all three quests in the series.
    Shards only drop from Spinner.

one small bit of information that I didnt realize untill it happened. I soloed Spinner EH on my Arti - and to my pleasant surprise I got both at seal and a shard from the chest so it would seem they are on different rolls to drop in the chest.

    Hope that cleared it up.

Seals drop in end chest of LoD/SoO/Spinner (not sure about Beyond the Rift).
Seals no longer drop in optional chests.
    Shards drop ONLY in Spinner.
Drow optional in SoO still drops fragments, but no longer drop shards.

I believe that part is outdated, I ended up getting both a base Envenomed Blade (my third one) and a seal for it in EE LoD, but... is the location information still current?

Still need the scroll and shard, after all... or two of those and a second seal maybe...

Are we talking JUST the envenomed blade? Because I pulled the seal for the Rakshasa Hide yesterday doing LoD EH.

Seals definitely drop in EH/EE LoD. I've been seeing seals lately.

Dumb question here, but I'm looking to epic-ize a Golden Guile. Same basic advice?

I run those quests fairly frequently. I've yet to get a seal or a shard drop.

In case you might not know, that quest is soooo much easier when players keep their shards in their pockets until they are all gathered, and then light the torches all at once.
