Here are my guild's stats from our FREE SILVER Daily Dice rolls. One day at a time, per account, per server. AFAIK, none in our guild has spent an astral shard to roll more than the FREE roll.

100..... NONE ROLLED AS OF YET BY OUR GUILD, Liquidzombie rolled one and received 35 astral shards

Eight numbers of 5 or less have been rolled, but only four numbers of 96 or higher have been rolled. Strange that it is a two to one ratio. If this keeps up with a bigger dataset it will lead me to believe that the Silver Jackpot and Copper Jackpot are weighted differently than rolling a five or less.

I rolled a 100 yesterday (Free Silver Roll) and got 3 Siberys Spirit Cakes. This was my 3rd free roll.

It obviously has more than 100 outcomes, as you can see that multiple rolls of the same number produce somewhat different outcomes. See 49 and 73.

I know, too small of a dataset. When we hit around 500 is when I will begin to make assumptions.

We might not make it though. Already there are grumblings that it is pointless, that is coming fom the players that are getting One Sweet Whitecap(me being one of them).

2nd day of DD and i won a superior xp elixir by rolling a 100. Level 7 quests never went so fast before.

Then there appears to be a hidden second roll which determines what the actual prize from within the group is.

Agree with the person who said that 120 ish rolls is no where near enough to start looking at results...

Random is clustery clumpy and uneven, not smooth and "fair" in fact just eyeballing that list it looks like you guys rolled an extremely unusually smooth and non clustered bunch of rolls for such a tiny sample... I would have bet on many much larger gaps between numbers rolled. But that is also subject to flukes in such a small sample. The EVENNESS of your results is more interesting than the 8 lower rolls versus 4 higher rolls.... the fact that you don't have (say) a 8 or 10 number gap anywhere with no rolls between say 33 to 42, or say a cluster of 6 18's etc.

In fact the largest cluster you have is 4 of the same roll... I have to think just eyeballing it that's such a thing is flukey. without doing the math (which I am terrible at anyway).

1) One of the ways to detect truly random numbers versus "random" numbers made up to look random is clumping. If it is really random, there is bound to be much more clumping that you'd expect. Our brains expect random to be a nice smooth distribution that is really not very random. Real random numbers clump more often than you'd expect. Flip a coin 100 times, and you have welll over a 90% chance to have a series of 5 in a row.

2) Like TAO said, there seem to be 2 rolls at work here. Whatever you roll (that it displays) is unimportant other than what group it falls into. Then it rolls again (in a hidden roll) to see what you get out of that group.


Anyway, I've been enjoying my once per day roll. Not that I'd bother buying more rolls, but I get 10 seconds of free entertainment out of it.

I've rolled a few times since it came out on my 3 server thelanis, orien and argo so far ive gotten a few mana pots (woot), some sibreys cakes, some astral shards, plat, craftung ingreads and some collectbales...so so far no complaints...when i get a useless colectable i just shrug than play some ddo when i get some cool like a mana pot i smile and than play some ddo.

Free stuff is fun I really dont get all the moaning. Just like everything else that is P2P in this game with a little patience and luck you can do it entirely F2P.

On the other hand if someone wants to blow 300$ on this I say more more power to them, if that more than they can afford that's their own **** fault, if its a kid using Daddy or Mommies C-Card thats the parents fault (Hint: Use Pre-Paid Credit Cards so once the kids allotted money is gone, it's gone)

Personally I will never pay to get Astral shards for the gold box (my money is better spent on adventure packs,classes,etc.) but I'll likely log on as often as possible to roll that silver box...guess what thats mission accomplished for Turbine.

In short I get free stuff every day including some DDO store stuff and Turbine gets my virtual butt online almost daily so we both win.

The copper jackpot can also give a Jeweler's Tool Kit. The dice were kind to me yesterday and I rolled 95-99 on five servers. Mostly got spirit cakes and astral shards.

Just rolled a Silver Jackpot! BtA Strength tome ...Upgrade... +1 to +2... It would be nice if I could have taken a lesser prize... collectibles even.

I pulled another upgrade Int tome the other day. At least a +1 is usable and a +2 is usable but this requires me to spend half as much (or already have) to even use it. Why do these things even exist?

Edit: nevermind... Chomped it into some dragon shards...

Its trying to mimic the DMG loot tables where the first roll is the category, which is another table full of that category's items, and the second roll is the item itself. You only see the first roll appear in front of you.

Something like this would explain why my own rolls differ from many of the stated rolls.

In fact perhaps there could be 3 rolls, 1 for the #, one for an item in that range, and one for the amount of that item?

After a few first gold rolls, and a couple of subsequent "free" silver rolls, I've come to the conclusion that one silver roll a day isn't really worth worrying about...

So I think I'll probably soon start forgetting about the daily dice....after the initial wow, unless I get a windfall of shards from someplace, I'll just focus on other parts of DDO.

I'll still play the lottery, one button submit for multiple items for multiple characters.
