The Turbine Gathering shall take place again Friday evening. Time is approx, but some of us start about 8 or 9, then close the place down, so it's pretty much a 'get-there-when-ya-can' kind of setup.

Hoping this year to get some official support, but we'll get it together either way. We have time to cuss 'n discuss ideas on where to hold it at this year as we get a little closer to August.
(Tho that little side room at Tilted Kilt looked inviting, if we get it nabbed early...)

If you're gonna try for a downtown hotel, best get it nabbed - if it's not too late already.
Last email from them said they're setting all sorts of records with badge sales and hotel block reservations selling.

I can vouch for a couple hotels selling out in the first hour.

i just fulfilled a childhood dream/bucket list item and bought my badge. i am super stoked - been wanting to go to Gen Con for about oh...25 years?!

Any news of an official presence there? i'm thinking that Turbine would be remiss in not being there, seeing as how it's like the "official" D&D MMO and all.

Anway, definitely will keep an eye on this thread so we can enjoy the DDO camaraderie in Indy.

There's still no official word on them being there. I'm sure it's still just a memo note floating around the budgeting office at this point.

I know with the loss of Jillians last year we tried to do the Tilted Kilt (which is a place I love) but ended up having to do Scotty's Brew House (which I am not a fan of.)

I have the evening free at the moment, but some people fighting for my DDO Party time, and I know they will get some of it.

No location yet, but they'll get our DDO party night when they pry it out of our cold dead clutches.
As always, once we root out some territory, we'll prolly hold it til closing time, so whenever ya can make it in is cool. We'll probably have someone there with that Twitter stuff who can get the word around on a location if we don't tie one down beforehand.
That little side room we nabbed at Tilted just as the word went out about Scotty's last year would be perfect.

We tried the tilted kilt last year. Loud crowded and packed with bikers due to Moto GP which will be the same weekend again this year.

As for a locale, was hoping maybe one of the Powers might have done something in that regard.
One of us calling and saying, "Hey, I'm this guy that wants some space" as opposed to, "Hey, we represent a large group of MMO players, and we'd like some space."

Wish I could make it to this/Gencon, but just can't manage the 2 hour drive again so soon.

The wife and I just hit up Indy to take the kids to the children's museum the first weekend of August. If you're looking for a quality hotel, I can recommend the Best Western Atrea (bestwesternatrea.com). I know it's supposed to be right by the airport, but I didn't hear a plane the entire time we were there. Really comfortable, large rooms, very clean, (and most importantly) free wi-fi. Not a bad drive to Gencon (15 mins to the convention center) either; it's all I-70E.

I'm willing to stop by anywhere even Scotty's I guess. I and my groups have just always had really really bad luck with that place. The ram is one of my favorite spots, but it is so busy / crowded and more a restaurant than a bar. Won't really be able to hold a chunk for the night, except for maybe holding down some of the bar. Jillians was perfect for this kind of thing, I was hoping with it being the same building, the kilt would have worked. Well, someone pick and point me at where we are going.
