    Default Character is already in the world can we get an answer to this

    I've read multiple posts now about people having this issue. It has happened to me about 20 hours ago I have submitted tickets did the submit a ticket through the website even called turbine. Have not heard anything back what so ever. Running a game and having a bug like this where players cant play there characters for days is 100% bs. What really makes me mad is no one can even respond to my tickets calls etc. and say hey were working on it.

    I have same problem on my main!

    Really lame bug this is. Used to happen every now and then a few years back. Sucks that it resurfaced. Happened to me when i lagged out last night in loading screen. Killed Client after a few minutes of waiting, Went to log back in and got the infernal "This character is already in world " error

    So yeah bump for the cause!

    this has taught me to put my festival ingreds in the future in the bank every few hours.

    eventually they'll have tolero come out and say some usual drivel

    I'm suffering this also. Going on 2 days now. No response to my Tech Support ticket.

    Here's a thread from the Technical Assistance forum with myself and multiple other people (2 pages) suffering this.

    Yep its been over two days now for me. Submitted a ticket and i still can't log on to my Sorc. Not Happy!

    I am still waiting for an answer to this. Instead of posting hey this is the junk that is going to be on the store for update 16. How about acknowledging that this is a huge problem! and what your doing to fix it. I am pretty sure people do not want to wait days/weeks to log onto there characters

    Below is Tech Support's reply to my ticket. Basically a "Is this still happening? If so, let us know. Also we didn't read your ticket properly, so make sure you include any of the following if you didn't the first time."

    If necessary please also include any of the following that was not already included in your initial support request details:

    Name(s) of all affected characters
    World server they reside on

    Hey. I got a reply from Turbine support. An automated reply asking if the problem is still ongoing. Yeah... not helpful. Anyone got any luck getting this fixed? How was it done? Do I have to bribe someone or something?

    Answer.

    If it does not fix itself in 24 hours, you submit a support help ticket, and wait for them go to through the script they have in a folder.

    After that they re assign the ticket to their account maintenance people that have to go into the database to fix your character.

    This can take up to a week as I watched a guildie go through this already.

    Nothing can be done in game.

    Maybe turbine would like to outsource their "tech support"? I mean, how hard can it be to find ONE PERSON to copy and paste generic replies?

    It seems that this is an ongoing thing. This is *not* in the known issues. It's getting irritating, as it happened to my MAIN TOON. My crafter. My long-time-in-the-making completionist. This is more than just a few hours. I know it's just a game. But it's a game I play!

    Really, outsource your tech support. Get college graduates in a related field. I'll be happy to refer you to some customer service representatives who can do more than just copy and paste generic replies.

    I think they meant to do that to our toons - to make the coming days safer for the Lord of Blades, Lolth and Horoth.

    ... Reminds me of the concept of the so-called "garbage collecting" : If an system is overloaded, it might not find time to properly release a character again.

    And the concept of "garbage collecting" implies that no-one knows for sure when the garbage is collected (meaning : the allocated memory in the RAM is "released" or "cleaned").

    But that's only a guess of mine, of couse.

    How were they proving they have no clue? There were simply stating what a lot of other people think. Turbine is car with no one at the wheel. I am currently experiencing what everyone else in this thread has. I logged my initial ticket, was told to wait 2 hours and if it wasnt resolved to then log another ticket. I logged another ticket, only for that person to straightaway tell me, log a ticket online with tech support.

    Surely the first person couldve told me that. It is now 30+ hours since i logged my ticket with tech support, to date I have not had any form of communication acknowledging my ticket being logged, nor any idea of an if or when expected time of resolution.

    What if this had happened to more than one of my chars? Instead of spending the last day or so working on that character, i now have to wait until Turbine are good and ready. It wouldnt kill them to put out a notice on the boards saying "hey we know about this issue, please be patient while we try to sort it out". But they havent, instead there is dead silence. You cant surely suggest that the previous comment has no basis, purely because they elect to be disparaging towards Turbine. Turbine have taken a head in the sand approach over this.

    Atleast there is some hope that there will be a solution in days or weeks, not months as some Turbine issues..

    We've announced a server bounce here that begins at 1pm Eastern today. This bounce is expected to help players whose characters are stuck in this state, and allow them to re-log back in. Just a reminder that airship amenities will take up to an hour or so to re-populate after the server bounce.

    We got someone to work on the problem! WOOHOO!

    Thanks Tolero - you're my hero. Please don't break anything else while trying to fix this issue. And maybe try to find a workaround... various suggestions that get bounced around that just might work. Turbine tech support was less than useless (copy and paste generic email replies after 2 days just manage to infuriate us), and in-game support was disheartening, as it seems they can't do anything besides say that they can't do anything.

    that being said, I was serious about outsourcing your support staff. I can recommend you to various tech firms that can handle these things in a competent and timely manner. Just a suggestion.
