Default For a barbarian, which TOD set is the best?

Obviously, it's between the ravager and frenzied berserker sets, but I can't decide which is actually better. On paper, it looks like 2d6 on bleed damage vs 3.5 weapon damage + 25 HP. I don't really know how many things are immune to bleed, though.

Any suggestions? My other ring is an upgraded Ring of the Stalker.

I have both, and would always opt for the Encrusted ring, Frenzied set. The bleed DoT on the ravager was nice and all, but the crusty equates to 3 extra damage, +1 to combat DC's, an extra rage, and 20 hp.

The 'classic' set up was considered to be Shintao set and frenzied set, but personally I think that's a waste of a necklace and a ring slot for the sake of +2 hit and damage. Finger necklace and Seal of Dunrobar works better for me, and would you really want to grind out all those ToD's given their reduced overall benefit with the proliferation of INS +2 items?

i cant see why you would rather have finger necklace as your necklace when 10% hamp means little when theres better gear out there for hamp. i guess it depends on your gear set up, but i can think of a lot more things to have for a necklace.

the seal i can see would be good. im out of the loop with the new named items and busy with past lives atm. ill have to look into it.

grinding out tods will still happen, especially if people take advantage of the raid bypass. theres still only a handful of places where you can get +4 tomes and tod is one of the easier ones to have a chance at it.

Doesn't the healer on the ship provide the same benefit as a Finger necklace?

I'd much rather slot my necklace with my GS HP item and wear Tharne's Goggles instead. Even though I do great DPS, unless I am soloing I usually don't have the aggro (sorcs/wizards or monks usually get it first) so I get the extra +8 sneak damage each swing.

I was actually debating this today on my Barbarian.

currently i have the Frenzied setup and was thinking about the ravager set.

My question is according the description the ravager is a proc, is this true or does the 2d6 damage happen all the time?

On my melee (not a barb, but still relevant), I keep both sets, but tend to use Ravager set most of the time, swapping to encrusted only when it'll work. If I had a significant rage (1 barb does not provide that), I might use the encrusted set more if my rages were not sufficient...or if I was using certain weapons. For a FB3, according to my relatively quick math, the encrusted set would be more damage if you use a weapon like the eSoS, due to the extra damage being factored into crits...but due to this being relatively quick math, I may be horribly wrong.

Really, though...if you can get both, keep them and experiment with them.

    Thanks bud :-)

Now, all I've got to do is grind Cannith Challenges to finish off the third tier of my Epic Ring of the Stalker so I can put GFL there.
