Insightful Dexterity +2 and +3 not stacking - WAI?

My rogue is wearing Spider Spun Caparison with Insightful Dex +3, and Boots of the Woodsman with Insightful Dexterity +2.

They do not stack. Is this WAI? It was my understanding that exceptional bonuses that were not similar stacked.

Can anyone confirm?

You are right, exceptional bonuses that are not similar stack.

These are, however, insight bonuses not exceptional. The fact that Insight +2 and Insight +3 don't stack is WAI.

Like bonuses have never stacked unless they specifically say so. And in this case, the Insightful Dex +3 will be the bonus that you recieve, rather than +5.

They are not exceptional bonuses, they are insightful bonuses. Insightful bonuses do not stack.

Exceptional stat bonuses that previously existed as +2, like with tod rings and greensteel weapons were removed from the game with U14.. They no longer exist.

With Update 14, items with Exceptional stat +2 were changed to Insightful Stat +2, and the bonus type was changed from Exceptional to Insight. That means they don't stack with new Insightful +3 items, and I'm sure was intentional.

Thanks for info all. I was unaware that insightful didn't work the same as exceptional for stat bonuses.
