Default Is Gird Against Demons worth taking?

I have been considering Gird Against Demons, but I am not really sure it's worth the cost.

Before the expansion came out, an ability that gives EOB on any weapon would have been very useful because almost all end-game monsters were Evil Outsiders...

But now that the xpac is the new endgame, how much of the stuff in the expansion are actually Evil Outsiders? There are the Rakshasa, but those enemies are relatively few. I have no idea about the Driders. There are the renders, which are semi-plentiful. The drow are chaotic evil elves, so they don't qualify. Other than that, I can't really think of much that WOULD qualify in the xpac.

As more and more FR content comes out, it seems to me like EOB will see less and less use. So is it still worth spending a whopping four DP on getting both ranks of Gird? Or maybe I am missing something and there are more EO than I am aware of.

There are still a LOT of demons in, er, the Demonweb.

    Draegloths, goristos, dretches, hezrous...

And the old Demon Queen epic raid still has its uses.

It is true, however, that evil outsiders are no longer THE end game bads to build for. But they're still a useful one.

I think it has it's place in end game, tbh. Consider what we have in the XPack:

    Demons
    Elves
    Undead
    Spiders

Out of those, the Demons are definitly the 2nd most troublesome/HP-Intensive enemies, right after those Drow Mistresses of Agonies.

Oh and free Cold iron bypass is handy, you get to keep that Deadly Weapons buff from your friendly Arti

I am positive eob will keep being important. New raid is filled with draegloth, belibith, glabrezu (sp?) and other demons. The only thing u14 changed is that I am considering getting undead bane and elf bane somewhere too.

Count me as agreeing - anything that ups DPS against chaotic evil outsiders and/or elves is good to have at present endgame. Gird covers one of those and covers it well.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Sorry, but evil outsiders stopped being THE end game bads around U2 when epics first began to proliferate. They -were- the end game bads when Shroud, Hound, VoD, Shavarath were the most difficult places to go. But that hasn't been true in a long time now. As more and more packs went epic, evil outsiders became a lower and lower percentage of the total field of enemies.

Demonweb. Demonweb raid. There's more than a few demons in this game at end content. Oh and demons are evil outsiders by the way so gird agains demons is still fantastic.

Especially if you can make some 2[1d8] +5 holy burst silver khopeshes of greater evil outsider bane. It will work vs demons as well.

A little bit off topic, in terms of weapons vs. the elves.. worth it to have a crafted elf bane weapon (holy? are they all evil?)? What kind of DR do some of the elf/underdark bosses have anyway?
