LR/multiclass question

So, I am currently a pure barb and was considering using a +3 lesser heart to add two levels of fighter.

What order is best to add those levels? At the very beginning or at the end? So basically:

Fighter
Fighter
Barb x18

or

Barb x18
Fighter
Fighter

Or does it really not matter one way or the other?

The only thing that makes a real difference when respecing a character is the 1st level. Here you get 4 times the skill points. So in your case a Barbarian level at level 1 should be the best choice, since they get more skill points per level.

Ofc things look different if you are actually playing through the levels. Other things might be more important here.

As indicated, it matters a bit at first level because barbarians get slightly more starting skillpoints than fighters do.

Other than that, it really doesn't matter unless you have specific plans for the 2 bonus feats. If they have BAB or other feat requirements, you may want to hold them off until specific levels so the bonus feat can be spent on what you want to spend it on. But when doing an LR at 20, this doesn't matter too much. When you are 20, game doesn't care if you took Great Cleave with your L18 everybody-gets Feat, or at 17 with your L2 Fighter bonus feat. Fred cares, but then one of the virtues of an LR is that it bypasses the need for Fred.
