Cool 2R/2F/16Bard TWF Kopesh Warchanter...Plz critique

    Hello all,

I have been an off and on DDO player for about 2 years now. For the most part I have followed other players builds. I have been doing alot of research on pure Bards and multiclass Bards and I think I found the build I want.

    Idea of this build is:
Max DPS via self buffs, wands, and scrolls.
Very good healing via spells, wands, and scrolls. Possibly able to fill in for a downed healer.
Kopesh build for two weapon fighting.
Ability to finish elite content solo or with a hireling.
Haggle points because I am unsure if they needed to go elsewhere.

*NOTE 1* This is not a F2P build. The +3 Tomes I plan to purchase from the DDO shop. If I remember correctly you can purchase these. If not I will change it.

So without further adieu, let me introduce my work in progress lol.

If you want to heal with blue bar, you need a metamagic feat, either maximize or empower healing. OTWF would probably be the feat to drop.

with +3 tome, you can decrease starting dex by one. You can also freely reduce your cha. Put points in str or con.

Or you could invest in int (~12) and take trap skills (perhaps going bard 16 rogue 3 ftr 1)

I have pretty much the same build (16/2/2) and can recommend dropping cha to 8 (use those tomes and enhancements to make sure you can cast spells of required level if need be) and increase int to 12 to pick up trap skills. The other 2 points could go in con (preferable) or even int for a little bit more wiggle room with skill points per level.

You may also want to fit Imp critical to earlier in the chain

+3 tomes cannot be used until lvl 11; that affects your TWF progression.

If you're definitely buying a +3 DEX tome, you may want to consider base stats 18 / 14 / 16 / 8 / 8 / 8. [Or CON 14 INT 12 if you'd like more skill pts.] Eat a +1 DEX tome at lvl 3 to get TWF; or delay it until later and use 2H weapons until then. As a WC you don't actually need that much base CHA; base 8 + 2 tome + 6 item = 16 (use CHA enhs until you get tome then reset enhs).

I would rearrange feats a bit too, to get Toughness by lvl 3, IC:S at lvl 12, and GTWF at lvl 15. I'd probably drop OTWF and take another metamagic, like Quicken or Maximize (maybe swap Extend for the other so you can be a decent backup healer).

    Hello, OP.
Good start to your build I think. I also run a multiclassed Bard- 15/3RG/2FTR, TWF (however I went rapiers as this toon was originally a rogue I TR'd and already had a boatload of decent weapons), trapping, and backup healing.

Let me just pitch dropping that 16th bard level for a second. I think both ways are perfectly viable. You will lose 25SP (who cares?), and (2) Level 6 spell slots. Notable spells you would not have access to: Otto's Iresistible dance, MCMW, and greater shout. This was a tough decision for me, since I love playing my other bard who is a CC caster/healer spellsinger type. However, you won't have enough spell penetration to make Otto's reliable (no room for feats, and loss of caster levels from the splashes), and you will have a pretty small pool of mana (even with items and such) so MCMW is not really a great choice for efficient blue bar healing (PS, with the way scrolls are working after the update, MCMW scrolls you can buy are VERY effective as long as you have a spell power item somewhere). 15 bard will still get you the Song of Heroism (formerly known as the AC song), and that extra rogue level was juicy for me as I wanted some more sneak attack and also wanted to be an epic trapper (was able to do Epic Chains of Flame and Epic Von5 traps).

For me, this bard was about DPS and support first (she's got debuff weapons and hamstring back when it was fashionable), and casting (healing) second. By the time I get done handing out GH (PS, the warchanter's greater heroism song does not give immunity to fear like the spell does), blur and sometimes FOM, I have precious little mana left for blue bar healing.
I wouldn't recommend dropping Extend, your haste will already be shorter than normal, and like I said earlier, your best healing will come from items, not your blue bar so Maximize seems like a waste to me, but if you did want to pick it up, drop OTWF, not Extend.

I started my stats like this: STR 16 DEX 14 CON 16 INT 12 WIS 8 CHA 12 (TR build)

I also had a +3 DEX tome to qualify for the ITWF stuff, but ate a +1 right away to qualify for TWF (before tome lasted through TR's). Save that stat point for something else like INT.

Feat and class order can be a little tricky with a build like this, so be careful and plan ahead.
    Here's what I would suggest:
    1) Rogue: Toughness, Weapon Proficiency: Kopesh
    2) Fighter: WF:Slash
    3) Bard: Extend (+1 DEX tome)
    4) Bard
    5) Bard
    6) Bard: TWF
    7) Fighter: Power attack (+2 INT tome)
    8) Rogue: (yay, evasion!) Rogue here to make the most of that extra skill point from last level's tome.
    9) Bard: IC:Slashing
    10) Bard Here is where you qualify for warchanter I
    11) Bard +3 DEX,STR,CON tomes.
    12) Bard: ITWF
    13) Bard
    14) Bard
    15) Bard: GTWF
    16) Bard (warchanter II)
    17) Bard
    18) Bard: OTWF
    19) Bard
    20) Bard/rogue whatever you decide.

Anyway, just my two cents. Have fun

    All hail the battlebard!

Sound advice for going 12 int for trapskills, you will only need 16 CHA to cast your top spells.

Going rog 3 will increase your DPS.

Check out MadMatt's bard builds for similar splits & great discussion on the build (and also the great granddaddy Axesinger, from which they were inspired).
