    Default Trixter - Human 12Ranger/8Arty TempestII/Battle EngineerI

    Hi guys. I thought of this build to focus on some of the stronger elements of both classes.

    Trixter - Human 12Ranger/8Arty TempestII/Battle EngineerI

    Tempest 2 = 100% Offhand attacks
    Battle Engineer = +10hps, +2 seeker, +2 natural weapon enchantment, Endless Facade

    Past Lives Ranger x2 and Barbarian x1 = 36 point build.

    Melee focused 2 weapon fighting. Dual Kopeshes.
    Massive burst Range DPS as backup. Manyshot + Endless Facade.
    Full UMD, Trap, Search, Open Locks, Concentration.
    Great spell selection for self sufficiency and buffs.
    Full Healing Amp, Full Ranger Devotion.
    +60% to heal scrolls/wands.
    AND a puppy to help u with fetching stuff! Beware All Ye Levers and Switches!

    Basically everything a Exploiter Ranger brings minus the AC. The AC is replaced with More DPS, better UMD and better Buffs.

    Thoughts? Tweaks??..

    Im looking for a Very Versatile Melee driven toon backed up with spells for increased survivability/utility.

    Really? That's a bummer.

    Decent concept for leveling, artificer bonuses don't scale so well for end game purposes but it'll be great to level. I'd trade in 1 artificer level for a rogue, fighter or monk level as I don't think 8 artificer gives anything worthwhile.

    No extra 3rd level spell. Other stuff sounds decent but if it's just for self healing can just take more healing amp.

    Well the 8th level of Art does give a bonus feat, but that washes with a Fight level. I was eyeing the Wand and Scroll Mastery III which ups a Heal scroll by +15%, from 45%--> 60%. Combined with Human Recovery3, it should push a self Heal scroll to close to 400HPs? maybe my math is off there tho.

    Now given this is a 2 weapon melee build, the Fighter level basicly brings the 10 HPs and 15% Haste boost to the table, which are always useful.

    Does the HPs and Haste overcome the need for stronger self Heal? thats the question...

    I'm thinking ahead on the Xpansion. AC is marginalized, Attack values are marginalized, so that leaves Exploiterish stuff. Strong "other" aspects of the game's combat system. UMD, Healing Amp, Spells, Scrolls, ect...

    And just as a note: Point Blank Shot is massive burst DPS with 2 Ranged multiple shot abilities ... i was surprised...

    decided to build a 12ranger/7art/1fighter version to compare the numbers. HPs are higher and more DPS from the haste boost.

    As this is a melee damage toon, I decided against maximize in favor of PBS. Also PA vs Precision?.. Opinions?

    Ranged DPS wise, ur looking at Ranged Crit + PBS effecting both Manyshot + Endless Facade. What does Xbow key off of for +damage? Int?

    Melee DPS is Tempest 2 Kopeshes with all boosts.

    Also i would like to be able to utilize the Med armor proficentcy while tanking. Or should i just stick with the Light for full evasion?

    Ok .. after TRing im sitting at Lv 10. Some Stats:

    26str
    18dex
    24stam
    16int
    16wis
    12 char

    265hps. 38AC (51% miss). 3% dodge.

    SKills with items/boosts are quite good.
    UMD 28
    Search 32
    DD 34
    Pick 32
    Jump 20

    Mellee with Dual Scimmies. Average hit in the low 40's with 80's Crits. Bow Damage around 40 with crits 120s with a Silver Bow. Very fast attack speed with Fighter Haste boosts + Haste potions.

    Im very happy with the UMD so far. i can use most anything lv4 spell or under. and have been making heavy use of Stoneskin, Blurr, Displacement, Sheild, Raise Dead, Recitation, Greater Heroism, and even Heal scroll is at 60%.

    The Early levels (1-6) were easily taken care of just swinging a big 2 hander (Guardians Dagger=>Carnifax) and useing a Frost Repeater for any ranged issues with a crafting made Mith Invul BP.

    Then at Level 8 i put on a Gorgon Armor and have 2 +1 Bodyfeeder of PG Scimitars which even now make me nigh unkillable.

    Hitting Tempest1 at lv 8 was a game changer with the addition of Manyshot and +70% offhand attack. I land 90% of my hits on elites even without the Oversized Weapon feat.

    The human healing amp helps on chugging the CS Pots. they heal for about 30+ish.

    Possible Changes on Next Life:
    I think I started with my INT and WIS too high at 14. I should have started with 10-12 in them and build max STR of 18.

    I should have went Human instead of HE rogue dilly. I rarely am sitting in the back for SA to matter. Build has the HPs/AC/Defense to be front line fighter. Human Bonus Feat = Power Attack. PA would be useful all the way up.

    One of the issues im having is what feats to take? for the life of me i cannot decide on the Last Fighter Bonus Feat. Build already has all useful feats: Both ICs, PBS, PA, Barb PL, Toughness, Dodge/mobility/SprAt, Kopesh.

    If i go Human. I can take PA at lv1 and take something else at lv20 fighter bonus. OR should i forget the lv2 fighter and just run Art to Lv7??

    I may just level up the rest of the way as Art and get the PL and TR into a better design.

    Thoughts guys???

    I went with half-elf, rogue dilettante, ranger 12 / arti 2 / barb 6. I am not sure if battle engineer would bring more than frenzied berserker I. Though feats are tighter: 3x tempest, power attack, cleave, ic:slash, toughness, maximize = 8 feats at lvl 21.

    Heal scrolls are only CL12 with 30% wand/scroll mastery.

    Manyshot only effects bows.
    Endless fullisade only effects xbows.
    they do not stack unfortunately.
